He wants what's best for her.

"Look," Dave said. "I appreciate whatever the hell you're trying to do here, but even if everything you say is true I can't accept that responsibility. It wouldn't be right."

Naomi cocked her head as she processed what she heard. To keep her would be breaking his moral code, which would ultimately cause him guilt and shame. A tear came to her eye.

"If that's how you really feel, then I guess I'll have to go touch Sophie..." she said sadly. Dave nodded and she left quickly donned her clothes and left.

Outside, Sophie was waiting. "So, how did it go?" she asked nervously. "I mean, please don't tell me about the actual sex. But are you ready to come back?"

Sophie sat on the couch, despondent. "I think I am. Just give me a minute. It really hurts, having to let go of him."

Sophie sat next to her friend and saw that she was crying. She almost rubbed her back to comfort her, then caught herself. "Hey, what's the matter? I thought you were happy as long as you're doing what's best for him."

"I am! It's just... it's a hard thing, Soph. It's like putting down your elderly cat. It's the right decision, I know it's what best for him, but it fucking sucks. I don't wanna be yours! I wanna be his!" Naomi buried her face in her hands and wept.

"Jeez, that's... I'm sorry, Naomi. You'll feel better soon, but for now take all the time you need. Remember, the sooner I touch you the sooner you go back to feeling alright."

"I know," Naomi sniffled. "I just... the thought of serving you instead of him makes me want to vomit. No offense."

"None taken," her friend reassured her. "I can't imagine how you must feel. Let's just sit together until you're ready, ok?"

Naomi looked at her, her makeup smeared and streaky. "I'm never gonna be ready. Just do it. I'm gonna put my head down and I want you to just do it to me. I can't watch." She put her face in her hands.
