A wicked visit to the store at the end of the street

A transformation Narrative with Magical Relics

Chapter 1 by MrSnow MrSnow

It was a dozy sunday and there was nothing to do.

It didn't help that Josh and Eyleen lived in a small sleeper town, where the wildest thing happening every year is that a carnival comes to visit. And that had been cancelled that year.

"Remind me, what kind of store is this again?" Josh asked sleepy.

"I think it's a kind of antique, but that is today's mission, to find out" Eyleen answered. She was thrilled to go. It seemed like it took very little to make her excited for things. This was something Josh both found annoying and envied. When you live in a sleeper town, you only have as much fun as you make yourself, and Eyleen were relatively good at finding funs things to do.

"We're here!" Eyleen exclaimed, Josh jumping a little, being stuck in his own thoughts for a second.

It was a boring sight: a store like any other, nothing special about its appearance. Simply a characteristickly wooden building. But all stores were made of wood around here, since they had been here for so long.

What made this one special was that it hadn't been here for an eternity. And it seemed like there had been no building crews building it, it just sort of appeared from one day to the next.

Before Josh had time to truly look it over, Eyleen had entered the store, way ahead of him.

"God sake," Josh followed.

...

The inside of the store was like the outside: all in wood, but nothing special. There was a strange mix of ancient and homely feeling to the store. But more like the latter had been implemented to hide the former. It gave Josh an eerie feeling.

Behind the counter was a man Josh couldn't determine whether he was younger or older than he looked, looking at them attentively.

"Welcome, what are we looking for today?"

"Nothing, we are just browsing" Josh answered.

"Oh, we are all looking for something, aren't we" the shopkeep blinked.

Before he had time to answer further, Eyleen caught Josh' attention, "Uh, look at this, brother!"

You were on your way over to her, when you caught sight of strange looking relics yourself.

Do you look at an object yourself or do you go over to your sister?
