Chapter 12 by crimsonbeans crimsonbeans

What's next?

A mind at peace

Jack awoke to abundant sunlight spilling through the blinds, a rare late morning. He stretched lazily, the weight of last night’s playlist adjustments still buzzing in his mind. The apartment was quiet, the kind of stillness that felt almost too serene for his plans. Rolling out of bed, he made his way to the kitchen and poured himself a strong cup of coffee. He needed the jolt to kickstart the day, especially with the growing list of tasks ahead of him.

As the caffeine coursed through his veins, his thoughts drifted to Sophie. He hadn’t heard from her since their conversation yesterday, but he was curious to see if his tweaks to her playlist had made a difference. Casually, he sauntered over to the window, mug in hand, and glanced out toward her apartment.

What he saw next stunned him.

There, in her living room, Sophie sat in perfect stillness, legs crossed in a graceful lotus position, her body completely naked. The sunlight caressed her toned, bronzed skin, accentuating every curve and line as she meditated, eyes closed, utterly serene. Jack could hardly believe it. Sophie's tits proudly pointed forward, all out in the open. Glorious. The sight was mesmerizing, and it took him a moment to realize his mouth had gone dry.

It had worked. She hadn’t just embraced his subliminals—she was living them. A wave of satisfaction washed over him as he watched her, calm and confident, completely at peace in her nudity. The message had stuck, more beautifully than he’d even anticipated. His mind raced with possibilities. If Sophie could reach this level of openness so soon, what else could he achieve with her? How far could he push, how deep could he go?

Jack leaned closer to the window, his pulse quickening. Sophie was completely unaware, her mind clearly tuned into the relaxation and clarity he had promised her. He could imagine the next steps, how much further he could stretch her boundaries, all while letting her believe she was simply evolving, becoming her truest self. It was thrilling.

But he couldn't dwell too long on this moment of victory—there was work to be done.

Reluctantly, Jack tore his eyes away from the window, setting his mug down on the kitchen counter. Sophie was progressing beautifully, but Veronica was next on his list. She would require a different approach, more subtle and calculated. He couldn’t afford to make the same bold moves as with Sophie; Veronica was shrewder, more skeptical. He had to play this one carefully.

Sitting at his desk, he opened his laptop and began working on Veronica’s playlist. His fingers hovered over the keyboard as he considered his first move. He couldn’t start with anything too obvious; her arrogance would trigger resistance if she even suspected he was trying to influence her. No, this had to be gradual, methodical. Jack carefully chose fitting music tracks and composed the subliminals, taking inspiration from his success with Rachel:

  • “Jack’s ideas make sense. You find yourself curious about Jack’s suggestions. You respect Jack’s intelligence and unique perspective, realizing he has always been talented.”
  • "While listening to Jack’s playlists, you feel energized, driven, and more focused, enhancing your sense of well-being and productivity."

Finally, he connected the universal subliminals to Veronica's profile, and saved the settings. It would be a slow burn, a subtle introduction designed to plant the seeds of compliance. He could always escalate later. For now, the goal was to get her listening—curious, attentive, and eventually, dependent on his guidance. With Veronica, it was a game of patience. He reminded himself of that as he stepped back from the playlist. One step at a time.

The clock ticked further and further from noon, and Jack’s stomach growled in protest. Time for a break. He threw together a quick sandwich, munching absentmindedly as he checked his phone. Several new texts had come in from the girls, each of them offering small victories that piqued his interest.

Rachel had shared Veronica's contact details, and her accompanying text was filled with an unusual eagerness to meet later, saying she couldn’t wait to discuss some of her latest thoughts with him.

Veronica's number, perfect timing. With her playlist ready and perfectly tailored for her, there was no sense in waiting. Jack quickly typed out a short, casual message:

"Hey Veronica, it’s Jack—Rachel shared your number. She's asked me to put together a playlist for you using my new tech. All you need to do is listen while you’re doing something else, it works in the background. You’ll feel more focused and energized for a few hours afterward, like a mental boost. No rush to start, but let me know if you have any questions or if you'd like me to tweak some settings. Take care!"

He read it over once, satisfied with the light, no-pressure tone. It didn’t give away too much—just enough to pique her curiosity. Veronica would come around. After all, no one could resist a little extra energy and focus. It was only a matter of time.

There was a text from Leah, her message shorter but equally telling: "Listened to your playlist again this morning. I feel so much more confident today, it really works... Thursday would be fine. Can't wait to chat! :)"

And Sophie... well, after what he had just witnessed that morning, he wasn’t surprised to see a message from her expressing how “liberated” she felt after the last playlist adjustment. Her wording, though, was cautious, almost shy. She wasn’t quite ready to share too much with him, but it was clear she was grateful. That hesitation would surely be addressed later.

Jack allowed himself a satisfied smile. The progress with each of them was undeniable, but there was still so much more to do, so much further to push. In fact, looking at the clock, he realized he needed to start getting ready. He had plans with Rachel that evening—another opportunity to see just how far she’d come.

Before heading out, Jack took a moment to check the feedback from the latest Urban Legends podcast episode that had been published earlier that day. A smirk tugged at his lips as he scrolled through the comments. "Incredible episode!" one listener wrote. "Couldn’t stop listening. Literally." Another mentioned how the series was "getting better and better" with every release. The download numbers had spiked slightly—nothing too dramatic, but just enough to show him that his extra efforts were starting to take effect. The subtle power of influence in action.

Sliding into his jacket, he checked his reflection briefly in the mirror. His excitement was carefully hidden beneath the surface, his expression calm and composed. After one last glance at Sophie’s window—now empty—he headed out the door, eager for what the rest of the day would bring.
