By 11:30 a.m., the major preparations were done, and you and Sarah took a moment to grab a quick lunch together. The two of you sat at a quiet table near the edge of the venue, away from the bustling activity. The break was a welcome relief from the hectic morning, but your nerves were starting to creep up on you as the afternoon approached.

Sarah noticed the tension in your face and asked, “How are you feeling about this afternoon?”

You hesitated for a moment before replying, “I’m ready, but I’m also really nervous. This is my first time doing anything like this, and I’m not a professional. What if I mess up?”

Sarah reached across the table and placed a reassuring hand on your arm. “Alex, you’ve done an incredible job so far. You’re more prepared than you think, and remember, everyone here is rooting for you. Just focus on what we’ve practiced and take it one step at a time. I’ll be there the whole time, keeping an eye on things, so you won’t be alone.”

Her words were comforting, and you felt a little of the tension ease. “Thanks, Sarah. I really appreciate that,” you said, managing a small smile.

As the clock ticked closer to 12:30 p.m., Sarah checked her watch and said, “Alright, it’s time to get you ready. You should head to the changing room soon.”
