Emily keeps her discovery secret for now

After her discovery that she seems to be growing a penis, Emily washes her hands and hurries back to the video call with Alice. "Okay, I'm back." She says, trying to remain casual. Alice picks up from where she left off, something about a podcast she listens to.

Emily has trouble paying attention. All she can think about are the implications of discovering a working serum. She picks at what's left of her food, too excited even to eat much. Her friend must be able to tell because she asks her about it.

"Something on your mind?" Alice asks once there's a lull in the conversation.

"Oh, just work." Emily says, not ready to share the news yet.

"Must be hard saving the world." Alice responds with a touch of sarcasm.

"Oh sure, just ask Dan." Emily snarks back, causing them both to laugh.

"Well I don't want to keep you from a breakthrough, we can catch up some other time." Alice reassures her.

"Alright, how about next week?" Emily suggests. "If all goes to plan I'll have some big news to talk about around then." She adds cryptically.

"Oh, okay, sounds good." Her friend agrees. "I'll see you next week then."

"It's a date." Emily confirms, yawning as she gets off the video call.

As soon as Emily hangs up she feels a wave of drowsiness hit her, she hardly makes it to bed before she passes out in her clothes, falling into a deep sleep.
