Strike first, send the Valkyries

You didn't need to think for too long. Taking a deep breath, you gave your orders, loud and clear.

"Move in, engage the enemy, take no prisoners."

"Understood, captain McLane" Dina answered. You could hear her proud of having you as squad leader. Almost in unison, the three girls pushed their muscles to the limit, quickly becoming just a trail of dust in the horizon. As Ted, Karl and you started to follow them, you kept your ears on the radio, trying to follow the action.

"1741, stay two clicks away, get their weak spots."

"Understood 1732, just like training." You heard Olga through comms, sounding almost happy.

"This time is real. Stay focused." Dina said. You could almost see her smirk as she said "So, no thinking about dicks as we wait, okay?"

"No promises."

A new example of her lack of shame. It was quite endearing, really. But still, you found a rather elevated place from where you could use the binoculars and see the action unfold.

"Initiating attack in thirty seconds." Dina ordered.

"Understood. 1741 in position." Olga confirmed.

"1736, in position." Jessica also claimed.

"Five seconds."

You held your breath...

"Three. Two. One."

"Initiate" You and Dina said at the same time.

From where you were, you could see the bright lights and that's about it. But you know how valkyries fight. Their superhuman agility and strength is already superior to even olympic athletes, their suit only increases them, and then gives them a bit more of a boost in the form of small jets and **** shields. You read that, in training, a valkyrie literally jumped over a five-stories building without a running start. And judging from the beams of light you could see higher in the sky, they were very much doing that.

Getting your binoculars again, you could observe the action just slightly better, even if trying to follow their moves was tricky. The Atlas-type walkers had just deployed some turrets in their hulls to strike back at the girls that were relentlessly harrassing them from every possible angle. Following the tracers, you saw Jessica first, her minigun just never stopping as she jumped around, almost bouncing and attracting enemy fire, which sometimes glowed bright as it hit the barrier around her. When there was any good moment, an even brighter beam coming from Olga's position blinded you for a moment, and you could see a new hole in the walker. Dina, however, was the hardest one to fight. Not because she was faster, but because she fought smart, finding cover and attacking weak spots, using the distraction provided by Jessica, taking down the legs one by one.

You were quite proud of those girls.

The fight lasted just under six minutes. About average, according to simulations, but after that time, the enemy guns fell silent. Then, the girls'. And finally, you recieved a transmission from Dina:

"Enemy eliminated. You are clear to approach." You could hear in her voice, she was tired, breathing heavily. But there was something else...

"Are you okay?" You asked her.
