Her shirt gets caught

Ashley was finally able to head out to the first floor, which contained all the groceries and other food supplies of the store, wheeling the two-wheeler out through the double doors as she let out another sigh. As she passed through the doors however, a loose thread on her shirt got caught, and though the girl didn’t notice, with every step she took, her shirt began to unravel. Her shirt wasn’t as old as her pants, but it was still a shirt she’d had for a long time, and had frayed several times in the past, much to her annoyance. She kept wearing it though, since it had been a gift from James.

She walked around the floor, depositing the various items she had from her boxes onto the shelves before continuing on. This process led to her shirt becoming more and more unraveled, exposing her stomach at a fairly rapid pace as pieces of the shirt fell off, fluttering to the floor, all without Ashley noticing. Being a retail worker who always tried to get around the rules, she had a small earbud in her ear that was hidden by her hair, and was playing music for her, allowing her to somewhat disassociate while she stocked. It was low enough she was still able to hear customers, but kept her distracted enough for her not to notice her rapidly deteriorating outfit.

By the time she got to the bottom of her two-wheeler, nearly half of her shirt was gone, and she was about to head back when someone tapped her on the arm. She quickly pressed on the earbud to pause and turned to look at the person who had been trying to get her attention, putting on her best smile. “Yes?”

“Um, young lady,” the woman said, frowning. “You seem to have gotten…caught,” she said as she gestured down. Ashley finally looked down, and was shocked to see that her shirt was so frayed that her bra was almost visible. She shrieked as she covered up her stomach, glancing around to make sure no associates, or even worse, her manager, were around.

“S-Sorry, I must’ve…um…!” she flustered, before turning and running, abandoning the two-wheeler as she attempted to get back to the back room before she was seen by anyone else.
