Alternate Reality: Naruto Edition

Chapter 1. Introduction

As you might have figured out, there will be quite a few changes to the series, so let’s get into it. First things first, this story starts after the Sasuke retrieval arc in the first part of Naruto. Secondly, Kushina will be alive (Minato dies as he had the fox sealed within himself).

During the fight between Naruto and Sasuke, when Naruto was taken over by the fox (kind of) and he and Sasuke exchanged fists, the fox’s aura around Naruto somehow sucked out a little bit of chakra from Sasuke. Our story starts when Naruto was brought back by Kakashi from the Final Valley.

One more thing I should point out, Naruto and Kurama have already bonded, that is, the cage is still closed but they usually talk to each other and the fox is willing to help Naruto in different situations.

Let’s get into the story.

‘Ugh, this sucks, my head is hurting so bad, don’t even know what the state of my body is’ thought Naruto.

‘Well, that was bound to happen. Fighting and chasing Sasuke through the entire forest would’ve taken its toll on you, not to mention you nearly died twice if it wasn’t for me’ said Kurama from its cage. ‘But I’m getting a strange feeling now that your emotions are back under control’

‘What do you mean?’ asked Naruto

‘Well, this has never happened before, I didn’t expect you to notice it as you are just a kid who won’t be able to notice a slight change in chakra within your body.’ Said Kurama. 'In any case, you can barely get yourself out of a genjutsu’ Kurama mocked Naruto.

‘Hey! No need be rude, I’m already in so much physical pain, no need for you to annoy me with this shit.’ Said Naruto. ‘It doesn’t matter now, what do you mean there is a slight change in my chakra?’

‘What I’m saying is, there was always your usual blue chakra and my red chakra, but now I’m able to sense a third chakra residing within your chakra. I don’t know how that’s possible but I have a feeling that during your fight with Sasuke, something happened that I have not seen before. For example, this new chakra seems to have merged with your own chakra. I honestly don’t know what this merging of chakra will do but we’ll have to find out. I have a feeling that….’

“NARUTO! Thank God you’re awake!”

Naruto opened his eyes and saw Kushina almost running towards him. She hugged him tightly as she started crying. “I thought I lost my baby” she sobbed.

“Mom, it hurts!” moaned Naruto, Kushina let him go “Sorry baby, you didn’t wake up for over 2 days, I was scared so bad. Thank heavens you are okay!”

Naruto didn’t even notice Shizune walk into the room until she spoke to him.

“Naruto, I need to run a few tests to make sure you are okay to go home or if we need to keep you here for a few more days.”

“Okay, I do hope I get to go home though, this room is making me feel nauseated.” Naruto said with a tired voice, his head was pounding from the fight as well as the new information Kurama had given him.

“Could you give us a few minutes Kushina?’ Shizune asked.

“Of course, Shizune-San” Kushina said as she exited the room.

After a few tests were done, Shizune called Kushina back in the room.

“So, I ran a few tests” Shizune told Kushina “I’m willing to let him go home, but you need to keep an eye on him every now and then”

“I can definitely do that; he can sleep in my room so that I can keep an eye on him while he sleeps.” Kushina said. “Is there anything specific I need to keep an eye on?”

“No, nothing in particular. His body is healing pretty fast, he should be ready to resume his regular training in a couple of weeks.” Said Shizune. “But make sure not to overexert yourself, let your body fully heal first” she said turning to Naruto.

“Yes, I will make sure to rest up fully before doing anything big.” Said Naruto to both women in front of him.

Later in Naruto’s home:

‘So, our conversation was interrupted in the hospital, what do you think the merging of chakra will do?’ asked Naruto to Kurama.

‘You know that the Uchiha fighting style in mainly based on their ocular jutsu. I have a feeling that, obviously you won’t have the eyes of the Uchiha, you might have gained some sort of their ocular power.’ Kurama said, ‘you know what, now that you are feeling a bit better, you might want you focus your chakra in your eyes and I will try to figure of what that merged chakra will do.’

‘Okay,’ said Naruto, ‘I don’t have my usual strength though, but let’s give it a try.’

Naruto closed his eyes and focused all his remaining chakra in his eyes. He didn’t feel anything unnatural happen. After about a minute he felt his body tire out, all the energy he recovered had left his body. He opened his eyes, the room slowly coming into focus.

‘Well? Did you notice anything?’ he asked Kurama.

‘Yeah, I have a feeling that, even though your eyes will look the same, you can put someone who looks you in the eye will enter a trance state, don’t know what you can do in that time, but we have to find out what it does. I have an idea, what if try your new ability on your mom?’ asked Kurama.

‘Why her? Are you sure nothing bad will happen to her?’ asked Naruto.

‘Well, I’m almost certain that it won’t harm her in any way, the most it would do is drain all your energy.’

‘Well, I’m not pleased to use her a training dummy, but we don’t have any other option and I’m very interested in finding out more about this new power.’ Said Naruto.

Kushina was preparing dinner while Naruto was having this conversation with Kurama.

During dinner, Naruto was thinking what he should do if his new power actually worked.

‘Well, I have seen how she looks without any clothes, wouldn’t you like to see that?’ asked Kurama with a perverted grin.

‘Oh shut up you stupid fox, she’s my mom, how could you even say that?’ asked Naruto in an annoyed voice.

‘Well, did you know that you and I can subconsciously share thoughts, I know exactly what you think about her.’ Kurama said with a big grin.

Naruto blushed a deep red.

“Is everything okay?” Kushina asked.

“Um... yeah, yeah I’m fine, was just thinking of something.”

‘I know exactly what you’re thinking hahaha’

“Just shut up!” Naruto said out loud by mistake.

“Huh? Are you sure you’re okay?” Kushina asked looking worried.

“Yes mom I’m fine, Kurama is talking nonsense stuff in my head.”

After a few minutes, Naruto and Kushina finished their dinner in silence.

“I’ll clean up, why don’t you go upstairs and get changed and then rest in my room, tonight you are staying in my room.” Kushina said as she started picking up the dishes.

“Alright mom, I need to recover as soon as possible to start training again.”

Back in Kushina’s room

‘You know what, shop acting like an idiot, I know all your innermost thoughts and feelings, so it’s pointless hiding them from me, got it?’ said Kurama in a serious tone.

‘Fine, but isn’t it wrong that I want to do weird stuff with her?’

‘It’s up to you, do you want to help out your mom who’s been alone and lonely for over a decade or do you not want to do anything to help her.’

Naruto was lost in thought because he didn’t even listen to Kushina enter the room.

“Baby, are you okay? Do you need anything?” asked Kushina.

Naruto had his eyes closed as he pretended to rest while he was thinking what to do with his mom.

“I’m fine mom, just need to rest a bit and tomorrow I’ll be fine.”

“Alright baby, I just need to make a cup of coffee and take a shower before sleeping. If you need anything just let me know.”

‘So, do you think I should take the risk right now, how much energy would I need to make her do whatever I want?’ Naruto asked Kurama.

‘You won’t be able to make her do anything you want right now, just start small and we’ll see what happens. You need to corrupt her mind slowly. I just want to be a spectator from now on, I would only talk to you if you are going to make a big mistake or I find out how to enhance the power of your new ability, do whatever you feel like doing.’ Said Kurama and went to sleep.
