The humiliation continues
As Susie and Bonnie continued to hang in helpless humiliation, the crowd's amusement only grew more raucous. Hank, relishing his newfound role as the instigator of the spectacle, called up to the skeleton figure again, "Make 'em do something funny!"
The skeleton puppeteer responded eagerly, jerking the fishing line in a way that made Susie and Bonnie sway and spin awkwardly in midair. Each movement caused their exposed bodies to jiggle and bounce, accentuating their embarrassment. Their cheeks burned hotter with each jeer and laugh that echoed through the carnival grounds.
"Look at 'em dance!" someone shouted, and the crowd erupted into laughter.
Susie's attempts to cover herself with her bound hands were futile, only drawing more attention to her plight. Her mind raced with humiliation and panic, desperate for someone to intervene and end this public display. Tears stung her eyes as she felt utterly exposed and vulnerable.
Bonnie, next to her, whimpered softly, her face flushed with shame. She cast pleading looks at the crowd, hoping for some semblance of mercy, but the spectators seemed intoxicated by the spectacle of their embarrassment.
