Kick Off Meeting

The conference room at EmpowerHer buzzes with quiet chatter as the team gathers. Penny, the department head for Outreach, stands at the front confidently. Penny begins the meeting with a brief introduction of EmpowerHer and the wins in the last few years including the one for Garfield Sanctuary.

You were inspired to contribute and do more as a result of her speech.

She continued the meeting with a clear and inspiring vision for the sustainable fashion project.

"Every year, the Outreach department of Empowerher organizes a fashion show under Empowering Fashion. Our goal and theme for the upcoming Empowering Fashion is to promote sustainable and ethical fashion practices," Penny explains. "We'll need everyone on board in this conference room to make this a success."

Penny gave a few videos of last few Empowering Fashion to let everyone have an idea what Empowering Fashion is about.

Penny assigned tasks after that: Sarah is named as the overall project lead, and you, Yanni, and Clara are designated as team members.

You and Sarah are responsible for the fashion show, while Yanni and Clara will handle marketing, booths, and logistics. Penny handed out some namecards for marketing vendors, fashion designers to Sarah.

Penny concludes with a firm but encouraging tone, "Sarah, I want weekly updates every Wednesday on your progress." She paused for a few seconds. "Any questions from anyone?" She paused again. "Looks like no, if there are any questions, do feel free to text me, find me in the office or email me."

You leave the meeting with Sarah feeling a sense of responsibility and a bit overwhelmed.
