As expected

Lauren put aside both her discomfort and embarrassment as she thought a moment and recalled the spell.

Then, she nonchalantly whispered out the incantation. When she finished, she smiled at her mother knowing that she got the spell right and looked toward the door expecting to see her pants reappear.

A second passed before the clock on the wall shock then fell to the floor, landing on the carpet below.

Lauren was stunned. She knew her recitation was correct and she never had troubles with the summoning spell before. Why didn’t it work?

“The spell is simple.” Explained Victoria, clearly interpreting her daughter’s confusion. “But more focus is required for more complex summonings. You are trying to retrieve something from another room. You need to focus hard on your incantation”

Lauren pouted in disgust. “It’s a little hard to focus with my underwear wedged up my ass!” she retorted.

“You need to put aside any distractions.” Victoria sighed “THAT is the lesson here”

Frustrated but with few other options, Lauren took a breath and composed herself. While she focused on the incantation, as if on cue, her panties gave another slight tug and she let out a small yelp. Still, she refocused and cast the spell with care.

When she finished, a faint sound could be heard coming from her room. Lauren was elated. She turned to her mother, a grin on her face and her hand held out to collect her returning pants.

“You see” Lauren said boastfully to her mom “I know this magic inside out.”

She felt something drop into her open hand.

“Now, I’m going to fix myself and go to the mall” she continued.

Her mother looked wearily at her. Then indicated to the item in her hand.
