(Zane POV)

Alright so I've got several things to do today, Rogue's sword will be finished later today, but first I've gotta get to the meeting. I'm barely out the door of my room when my phone goes off, a text from Fisk no less. Apparently he's found someone to work as head of security for the building, also he's sent a long list of people in need of work that could be potential hires for the security of the building. Looks like I'll have more work to do aside from the meeting, I'll probably be busy for awhile.

On my way out I got stopped for a moment by the Professor. He didn't want anyone going out on their own, as a precaution he wanted at least a couple others to go with me. He mentioned how he didn't want to take any chance of Apocalypse or Sinister attacking and possibly getting hold of me, the thought of either threat getting hold of my ability to make reality altering wishes was more than a little concerning, so none other than Jean, Kali and Ororo were sent with me. I felt it was a bit much just for me heading into the city but clearly the Professor wasn't going to take ANY chances with my safety. Jenny did ask me to hurry back, said she wanted to do some training to let off some steam. Sarah would be talking with the other more strategic minds of the X-men and the Brotherhood members that had gathered here. So while they planned and tried to work on gathering info, I headed out with Jean, Kali and Ororo driving me into the city... I should really get my own vehicle.

Arriving at the building where the lab would be didn't take long. I headed in for the meeting while the ladies headed inside to relax and keep a careful eye out just in case. I arrived to see Peter coming in from the elevator, he had clearly swung here, I said hello before asking "Ready to meet the other brilliant minds you'll be working with? I'll warn you now, they ARE trying to turn over a new leaf and hopefully regain a somewhat normal life." Peter was concerned at hearing those words, first asking me if they were former AIM scientists or something. I'd chuckled before opening the door and leading the way into the meeting room...

Where Peter promptly froze with worry at seeing Dr Olivia Octavius and Dr Curt Connors in the same room, no tentacles on display, no lizard to be seen, but Peter clearly tensed up a bit upon seeing them. "Miss Octavius, Mr Connors, allow me to introduce another brilliant mind I've been trying to convince to join us. This is Peter Parker. You'll find he has an exceptional mind for science, though his personal commitments are NUMEROUS outside the lab, I think you'll both be impressed by his capabilities." From there Peter had a bit of trouble remaining calm, he had no problem with Connors of course but Olivia's appearance concerned him.

Introductions went mostly without trouble, though Peter did ask how it was that the two of them were recruited for this team. Connors explaining how this was one of the only places that would trust him with a science lab, wasn't after his lizard related research and thankfully was a fully legal laboratory. Olivia's response was that she was hoping to be able to continue her research, possibly find a cure for a physical condition that was slowly shutting her body down, even mentioning how her first focus was going to be to fix the damages done to her body by her... as she put it a "Bad first draft" in her experiments. She explained how her ego had kept her from going back to improve upon her original design, that the connection allowing her control had been incomplete to say the least.

With that there were conversations, questions about where they should start first with their scientific endeavors. I suggested perhaps helping to ensure each other was able to operate without worry first, making sure everything they would need would be set up in the lab. With that I left them with a particularly large check and said if they needed a larger amount of materials or the like, to not hesitate to inform me. Connors asked how I had access to such an amount of money and I simply replied with. "Peter knows that my money comes from an entirely legal source, it doesn't even bend the laws in any way for it to be obtained. Your welcome to ask him if I'm lying or not, however it's safe to say THAT amount is not too much to spare. I'm not terribly used to how expensive scientific research can get true, but I will do my best to ensure that the funds continues to remain as full as can be."

With that I entrusted to them the ordering of any and all materials they might need or desire for their research and started heading for the door... I barely got my hand on the handle when it turned and in walked someone I wasn't expecting. "Hello? I was told to come here and ask about a job working security? I was told that I would be able to make good money here and hopefully turn over a new leaf..." I heard him say, moving to shake his hand as I welcomed him inside. "Of course! Please come in! Everyone, this is the man that was recommended to me to be the head of security for the building. I believe you've already met but allow me to calm any concerns you have now. I intend to help this man and as many others as I can to return to a... somewhat normal life. I can't turn back the clock but I CAN offer my help in being able to leave behind his former life of crime. Would you introduce yourself sir?"

With that the man behind me stepped up, looking a bit worried considering who else he recognized here, after all they hadn't ALL been on the best of terms during their former criminal lives. "Hello! I uh, I'm hoping to work security here, to work with you all as best I can. I'm trying to get away from my criminal past, to be able to take care of my child and help pay for school...
