The Nutcracker: Jonathan's Father sat next to Leah
Leah sat uncomfortably between Jonathan and his father Tommy as the lights dimmed in the theater. She tried to focus on the dancers gracefully pirouetting on stage, but felt Tommy's eyes on her in the darkness. His hand casually rested on the armrest between them, occasionally brushing against her thigh seemingly by accident.
Leah shifted in her seat, inching closer to Jonathan. But Tommy's whispers still reached her ear over the swell of the orchestra.
"You look absolutely ravishing tonight," he murmured. "Makes me wish I was thirty years younger." His fingers grazed her bare shoulder.
Leah suppressed a shudder, feigning interest in the performance. She wanted to tell him to stop, to leave her alone, but worried about causing a scene.
Jonathan gazed obliviously ahead, enthralled by the dancers or too distracted by Ashley's movements as she adjusted her pregnancy weight awkwardly in the older theater seat.
She felt his hand move up her leg dangerously close to moving up her dress.
