Joking about Lauren

"Say, what are you feeding Lauren?" Gus asked Jade.

"Huh? What do you mean?" Jade asked, slightly confused.

"Well, she's as plump as an overripe grape!" Chuckled Donnie.

Lauren's jaw dropped at the insult.

"Oh that!" Jade smiled at Lauren's reaction. "Well, Laurie here is a lazy little city girl. That's why her mom sent her here, to get off her butt and get some real country living!"

"She could use it." Donnie grinned at Lauren. "I'm gonna have to use a wide lens to fit her big ol' backside in the frame."

"Take that back!" Lauren yelped, mortified.

"Aw, we're just joshin' you." Gus said.

He leaned over and ruffled Lauren's hair.

"Yeah, don't you worry." Donnie tried to reassure the mortified Lauren. "You're still cute as a button, and that baby fat goes away when you grow up.

This reassurance just made Lauren feel even worse, largely because she knew she was already as big as she'd ever be...
