Embarrassed and apologetic

June freezes a little longer following your words before finally mustering up the courage to speak.

"I completely understand. Am I... am I fired then?" June asks, cutting straight to the point.

"Well, not exactly." Sofia starts.

"You see, we are sympathetic to the fact that this is your first job out of university and therefore, if you were fired and this situation placed on your record it would be virtually impossible for you to find another job in the field afterwards, practically ending your career immediately." Sofia says.

June looks horrified as the weight of the situation fully dawns on her.

"Therefore, we've developed an alternative scenario, one in which you may even be able to continue your personal... hobby." Sofia continues.

"Oh... I see." June replies with a confused expression now.

"We could consider changing your position within the company, to one better suited to a woman of your... nature." Sofia says.

June looks taken aback at this last statement. You can tell that she thinks she knows what Sofia is calling her and yet she has too much disbelief and confusion to react to it.

"This is a contract for the new position that you would undertake. Remember, the alternative is being fired and never being able to work in software again." Sofia says, handing June a copy of the contract you had her draft up.
