In Heat Part III
In Heat Part III
Aiden awoke to the sound of music from outside the bathroom. He groggily rolled over, and lifted his phone only to discover it was dead. He had no idea what time it was. Infact they hadn't even turned the lights off the morning prior thanks to the sheer exhaustion. Aiden groaned, lifting himself out of 'bed' (bathtub), and rubbing his left temple as he stepped out of the bathroom. He groaned audibly, feeling the onset of a dehydration headache.
Mystril eyed him bemusedly as he stepped into the room with her. She was sitting on the cuck chair, and had used what he could only assume was a platter in the room for the remote or something as a hard surface to set his laptop on. The music wasn't particularly loud, but it was hitting levels of noise that seemed to resonate with the throbbing in his head. Mystril was apparently hard at work doing... Something? He wasn't quite sure. On his laptop. Fuck, how did she get onto his laptop? Mystril only became aware of Aiden stepping into the room when he stepped forward, and shut the screen. Mystril only narrowly avoided having her fingers crushed, and scowled up at him as the music stopped.
"Well, morning to you too. I was doing something, you know?" Mystril was still bouncing. She had folded a leg underneath herself, and didn't seem like she was capable of staying still. Infact, Aiden didn't think he saw her stay still unless she was sleeping, and when she was sleeping she was loud, not bouncy. Aiden rubbed his brow, and asked, "What time is it? Also, jeez you have another bad dream or something?" Mystril stared at him for a good two second pause, just long enough to be awkward before she asked, "Nightmare?" Aiden shook his head, and Mystril stood saying simply, "Hold that thought, now that the bathroom isn't occupied..." Then she stepped off for Aiden's sleeping quarters.
Aiden sighed, and opened his laptop. Whatever he was looking at was unfamiliar. The time was clear though on what he could assume was the computer's lock screen. He winced, rubbing his eyes after twelve hours of stone dead sleep. Aiden called out, "What the fuck did you do to my laptop?" Mystril yelled back through the bathroom door, "I fixed it. I don't know what you were downloading, and I didn't check." Aiden nodded, that was reassuring at least, but it still wasn't cool of her. He stood up, and retrieved his phone charger from his bag. Mystril stepped out shortly after, and then returned to her seat, still sitting weirdly, and still bouncing.
There was a small frenzy of keystrokes, and she asked, apparently in the pause while something loaded, "So, I figured our lives would be much easier if I got us into the building's cctv, and so I did." Aiden sighed, "You paid for the hotel wifi?" Mystril shook her head, "No. Laptop, default admin password. Wifi, default admin password. The cctv server, default admin password." She flipped the screen around, and showed off the feed of the car in the opposite parking lot. "I also watched all the shit we missed while we were sleeping, and no one came near it." Aiden was bothered by the clear violation of his privacy, and that annoyance only grew with how proud Mystril seemed of herself.
He shook his head, "Any new developments, medical wise?" Mystril shook her head in response, and then joked, "Well, aside from the usual girl stuff." Aiden eyed her quizzically as a **** of habit, "Define girl stuff." Mystril looked up at him, straight faced gauging his level of seriousness, and then seemed to do some mental calculus. In her mind, Aiden was of course basically a stranger, medical professional or not. Unfortunately, she also calculated that likely he was the closest thing she had to a doctor right now, and this wasn't a body she could effectively gauge the wellness of by vibe alone. Then, the obvious issue, it was very awkward.
"Well, uh." She started, puttering off as she considered how best to say it. "Yeah." Was all she managed. There was a brief moment where she consciously considered, and asked herself why she felt so uncomfortable bringing it up. Afterall, she was an adult, and he was an adult. Also he was basically a doctor. Aiden pried, "Seriously, are you alright?" Mystril wasn't really concerned about it at the moment, and she tightened her hands, deciding that she really didn't want to talk about it, "I'm good, seriously. It's nothing bad. I'm not in any pain, and I'm not coughing up blood or anything."
Aiden eyed her skeptically for a moment, and then nodded. He still wasn't wholly comfortable about the situation. Mystril meanwhile was dealing with quite the acrobatic showing of mental gymnastics, because in all actuality she did feel weird. Mystril felt unbearably horny, and she wasn't sure she liked the implications which came with that. She watched him like a cat watches a mouse as he stepped over to the microwave. This was new after-all, and maybe he did have a fix for it... But Mystril was also very much aware that he did have a fix for it. She just wasn't quite fully prepared for the implications or the possible consequences of it.
