Failing To prepare is preparing to fail

Jackson sat back in his recliner as the dishwasher chugged along. Reaching over he picked up a notebook and pencil to help organize his thoughts. First list was assets, his house compound was built to act as an inclosed self sustaining community. He had built it as a reaction to the horrors he had seen overeseas when people found themselves stranded in a war zone. He had passive income from several lucrative pattents he had rolled into the compound. A bit of math and he figured he could shelter two dozen people comfortably three if folks were comfortable with very friendly bunking. The power, water and food were good for several months at those numbers so he could shelter people through the original craziness.

Next he began to list people who he knew who would need his protection, those he was willing to shelter and those he was unwilling to tolerate. Going over how the upcoming laws would affect people he sorted and cross checked.

He had been raised to be a good man but was self aware enough to acknowledge the darkness in his own hart. He woul need to be careful to walk the line between helping and protecting vs becoming an abusive harem tyrant like he was sure others would become. "Power corrupts" was a saying he had seen first hand more than once.

Over then next hour he created a list of people who he woul try and help. Now he would need to try and gather them up and set up his plans without tipping his hand to the powers that be.
