Mother/Daughter Fashion Show

"But mo-om!" whined Carol. "All the other girls' moms are in on it."

"I don't want to do a fashion show!" said Lauren.

"This is the sorority's biggest fund-raiser. We were the only ones who did not do it last year, and I had to hear it all semester long. Don't wuss out again. All it is is we get outfits from a local boutique or dressmaker, we walk out on the catwalk, smile and walk back. The people in the audience pay tickets to see us, and the sorority does a big dance number at the end."

"The entire sorority?"

"No, each class does their own, so I'll be with the other sophomores."

Lauren felt defeated. "I won't have to dance will I?"

"No, just model."

"And I get to veto the outfit?"

"The people who supply the outfits work with you, mom. It's not like they'll dress you like a clown or a garbage man."

"Fine, I'll do it!"

"Yay!" Carol hugged her mom.

"I'll let you know when we meet with who gets chosen to dress us."

Days later, Lauren and Carol were meeting with a local boutique owner.
