Battle of the Blackwater
The Battle Begins
You left Margaery to clean herself and leave with the other ladies to a safe distance from the battle in case it went really badly and an evacuation of the area was needed. Like your father you liked to fasten your own mail and armour and it didn't take long for you to be fully dressed. Wearing heavy plate and mail with a crowned Stag on your back and a Stag upon a blazing heart on your front you walked out into the night air.
In the distance from the hill you were standing on you could see the fleet coming into view. You met with Randall Tarly and the other commanders for the last time and went to set your lines. You reached your lines and saw the men setting up rams, ladders and other siege equipment.
"I'm sorry about earlier, my prince," Loras Tyrell said dressed in plate himself with roses emblazed upon the armour.
"Don't worry accidents happen," You said giving the smaller hand a pat on the back. "Are you looking forward to tonight?" You asked.
"I've never been in a battle before," He said looking slightly nervous.
"I haven't either, but isn't it exciting," You said and you were excited to finally claim the throne for your father though a mix of anxiety was mixed in knowing that some of the men who stood with you and your army would not live through the night.
An hour past and small skirmishes happened up and down the wall as lucky arrow shots were taken between the defenders and the attackers. A horn blew for the signal for the attack and you watched as the men around you marched towards the wall with ladders under fire from rocks and arrows.
You joined the fight in the second wave getting under the shelter of the makeshift ram heading towards the King's gate. Thud, thud, thud you could hear as rocks and other projectiles hit and embedded themselves just inches above you in the makeshift ram's ceiling. You looked to your right and saw a rock slam into the head of one of your soldiers his head exploding upon impact and his corpse slumping to the ground.
As you reached the gate again you looked out at the bodies and pools of blood that were now beginning to grow in number at the base of the walls.
Bang! Bang! Bang! the ram began to smash against the gate and you could see the wood flexing and beginning to break more and more with each smash.
After a few minutes that felt like an eternity the gate came open with a snap and you and your men rushed into the city. You unsheathed your sword and slew the first gold cloak you came across with a downwards strike into his left shoulder. After a few casualties the men defending this section of the wall threw down their weapons and you took a few moments tying up and dealing with your new prisoners.
You now had a choice to make you could march up the wall to the Lion's gate or make your way to help your father at the Mud Gate. As you reached the top of the wall you looked out to where the fleet was that was now beginning to land on the shore just off the Mud gate.
You had to close your eyes as a huge explosion erupted from where the fleet had been.
"Wildfire," Loras called out as he met you at the top of the wall.
Your eyes stung as you began to open them again seeing the Blackwater in a green blaze.
"Fuck," Was all that you could manage to get out as you rubbed your eyes. You look back at your men their triumph now met with a slight fear.
"With me Men! They can't pull that trick again," You screamed at the top of your lungs as you marched down the wall towards the blaze.
