Chapter 29

On Campaign
Towards King's Landing
After the wedding not much time was lost to celebrations and preparations to leave began almost immediately. Your father was incredibly skilled at command and watching him and helping where you could even with your youth was appreciated.
Not to upset your Tyrell allies and at the suggestion of Davos Seaworth, the Lady Melisandre was left at Storm's End so that any victory at King's Landing would land as an achievement of your father and not because of her mysticism. Daenerys would stay behind too so that the population of the city knew who their rightful King was.
The command was split into two, Stannis would sail for Dragonstone and then onto King's Landing whilst you would stay with Mace Tyrell who led the land command. In all reality Randall Tarly was the one giving orders and setting up different commands with him controlling the Vanguard of the Tyrell forces. At your wish and your father's instruction you were given the right flank to control and instruct. Under your command were a few knights with your new wife's brother Loras being the most notable. You felt guilty when you were first introduced to Loras at the wedding as seeing him wearing a Stag brooch that you knew belonged to Renly was a kick in the guts. Like the rest of the Kingdoms Loras believed that Renly had been killed by Brienne of Tarth and knowing this was a lie that you would have to keep close to your chest.
Every night you would enter your chambers to an awaiting Margaery and the sex with her was not getting old. Her pussy was warm wet and inviting and Margaery had no issues keeping up with you as you went for multiple rounds most nights. She would then collapse at your side and would fall asleep with your arm wrapped around her.
You set off from the castle and your father wished you well as he would be setting out a few days later. The ride was unpleasant and you hoped the constant storms and mud were not an omen for the battle that was to come.
What shocked you most about your new wife was the level of influence she held when her father held meetings and court within his grand tent. Watching her adeptly speak and give ideas about the campaign was impressive for a woman and it intrigued you that one day she would perhaps sit on your council when you were King like Alicent Hightower and Rhaenyra Targaryen had done hundreds of years ago.
The journey whilst unpleasant from the copious rain was relatively tame with little happening you spent the time split between your wife at night and your new knights that you would be fighting alongside in the battle to come and within a couple weeks you were only a dozen or so miles away from King's Landing.
