The Second Session

After dinner, Evan heads to his room and boots up Solar Lords and Caleb powers his desktop on, attaches the headset and starts up the IG launcher. Clicking on ‘Continue Previous Session’ he is met with another countdown screen ‘02:37:41…40…39’

“9pm it is, then. Back to the lil dudes. Hey phone, set an alarm for 9pm.”

“Setting the alarm for 9pm.”

Later in the evening…

Caleb's phone begins to buzz and chime when there's a knock on the door. “Hey Caleb, it's time right?”

‘Well, that's not creepy at all, guess his enthusiasm really has ramped up...’ Caleb thought as he walked to the bedroom door, opening to find Evan standing there half-ready to knock again. “Right on time, my dude, though how you knew that is beyond me.”

“Oh I have a ‘Nanny alarm’ on my desktop. If I stay up too late on work nights it yells at me, keeps me mostly on track.”

“I see. Well, lay on down, put the helmet back on and I'll start ‘er up.”

“Great.” Evan bounds over to the bed and pulls back the nearly shoulder length cascade of hair out of the way of the helmet cables. Laying down, he snugs the goggles and helmet on.

“All set?”

“Yessir, let's get this show on the road.”

Caleb clicks the ‘Continue Previous Session' button and the loading bar is considerably faster this time. Caleb grabs his phone and loads up a game to play. “No telling how long this session is going to be.”

Evan whispers to himself "Let's ride!"
