Chapter 4 by MaxFlames123 MaxFlames123

Does he manage to be careful?

Nope!

Spike glanced at the piles of surveys for a moment, wondering what they would end up saying. “Could I read some of the ones you’re finished with?” Spike asked, not taking in another use of his power. In an instant, Twilight’s worry about showing off some of the more bizarre beliefs to him faded.

“Sure thing.” Twilight said as he passed him around 10 papers. “Just put them back on top of the rest when you are done.”

Spike nodded as he began to read over some of them, noticing from the start they seemed to be anonymous. The first few questions made sense to ask, ‘have you had any interactions with dragons, if so, how many’, though he probably skewed the results a little there by being around. He moved ahead, looking for any sections made by the pony’s themselves, before stopping at one of Twilight’s questions.

‘Do you think dragons are inherently aggressive?’ This question had a few variations but none of the 10 said no, the best they said was ‘they get more aggressive with age.’ Spike rolled his eyes as he placed them down. “Wow, I can’t believe these ponies.” He said as let out a sigh. “Can you believe they think dragons are naturally aggressive?”

Spike covered his maw as soon as he processed what he just said, realizing now bad that could be! Right, he needed to fix this as soon as possible!

“Well, I can see why. Most ponies don’t meet any dragons, and Ponyville has only seen you, Ember and Smolder. Not the most balanced group at least.” Twilight said disheartedly. It still hurt to see so many ponies thought this still, even if she could see why they didn’t know better. Too many stories of them as monsters she had to guess.

Spike began to sweat as he heard this, worried that he made Twilight’s thoughts on dragons become worse, like they had been when he went on the dragon migration. “R-Right. Look, you like dragons, right? I’m not an exception in your mind either, am I correct?” He asked, purposefully using his powers this time, not risking the relationship with her eroding because he waited too long.

“Spike, of course I do. Why did you feel like you had to ask that?” Twilight asked as she put down her paperwork.

“J-Just… a bit worried I guess.” Spike said with a calming sigh. Good, he fixed things, but at this rate, he might need to wrap his mouth shut till he learns not to say yes or no questions at all.

“If you’re really worried about it, I filled out one myself, as a baseline for someone who has more experience with Dragons. If there is anything in there that you are worried about, you can always tell me.” Twilight said with a smile as she lifted the paper over to him.

He smiled as took it in his claws, quickly leaving her to her work. With a sigh, she began to blush a bit, thinking about how lucky she was to have Spike so close to her. Not every pony got to be so close to a dragon after all. And even if he wasn’t like the stories, he was a kind soul she couldn’t help but adore. She shook her head, pushing the thoughts down, and continued working.

A/N: This here is what I'll be exploring in my path, Twilight working to make Spike more aggressive, and how Spike ends up changing how he views and uses his powers from that. There will be some genderswaping later on as well, and not just for Shining Armor~ Ideas are appreciated as well, and like Darkstar, I'll post a poll for certain ideas or who to do next.

So, what is Spike doing?
