THE NEXT DAY

The Gold Family Reunion

Setting: The Gold family home is a sprawling, ultra-modern mansion with sleek lines, minimalist decor, and the latest in home automation technology. Every surface gleams, and the house is filled with subtle, luxurious touches that denote the wealth and status of the Gold family.

Characters:

Dean Gold: Newly classified as an Alpha Dom, returning home for the first time since his classification.

Ben Gold: Dean's father, the patriarch of the Gold family.

I stepped out of the sleek, autonomous vehicle that had brought me from the government center to my family's mansion. The familiar sight of my childhood home brought a rush of memories, but today everything felt different. The imposing front door, made of polished steel and glass, seemed more formidable than ever before. I took a deep breath and rang the doorbell.

The door opened almost immediately, and my father, Ben Gold, stood there with a proud smile on his face. "Dean, welcome home," he said, his voice warm and inviting. He pulled me into a firm embrace, and I felt a brief moment of comfort.

"Thanks, Dad," I replied, stepping inside. The interior of the house was just as I remembered – elegant and meticulously maintained. But something felt off. I didn't see my brothers anywhere. "Where are David, Derek, Daniel, and Damon?" I asked, glancing around.

Dad's smile faltered for a moment, his eyes flickering with concern before he quickly masked it. "They're... busy," he replied vaguely, leading me towards the grand living room. "Your mother is preparing dinner. She'll be delighted to see you."

As we walked through the familiar halls, I couldn't shake the feeling that something significant had changed in the house. There was an eerie silence, absent of the usual boisterous chatter of my brothers.

In the living room, I found my mother, Sarah Gold, arranging flowers with practiced elegance. She turned, her face lighting up as she saw me. "Dean, darling! You're home!" Her smile was warm, but her eyes held a hint of sadness.

"Hi, Mom," I said, giving her a kiss on the cheek. "Where is everyone? It feels too quiet."

Sarah sighed softly, exchanging a quick glance with Dad before replying, "Your brothers are... dealing with some matters. But they'll be joining us for dinner."

I sensed the tension in her voice, the unspoken words hanging heavily in the air. Something wasn't right, and I intended to find out what it was.

WHERE ARE THEY?
