Chapter 29 by Walrusdick Walrusdick

Enter the Dragon

Eye of the Tiger

I arrived at the police station and came in through the front door. I was asked if I needed something from the officer at the front desk. I told him that I had an appointment with Detective Peterman.

He cracked a smile. "So you're the guy she hasn't shut up about?" Chuckling.

"Pardon me?" I was a little confused.

"The guy with the AI program that is supposed to change our cyber crimes unit, right?" The officer said "You have certainly made an impression on Peterman; she hasn't stopped talking about how great you or your program are. Honestly, coming from that woman, it's probably true." He said as he motioned for you to follow him.

We went down a few more hallways, and he held a door open, motioning for me to enter, but this was not an office; inside there were workout machines, weights, and and large area with a gym mat and a boxing ring. It was the station's workout and training room.

I noticed immediately that Madison was sparing with not one but three other officers. The two men and a large woman were talking turns, circling and lunging at her, sometimes with kicks or punches, other times to distract for another to attack. She was really handling her own; she had clearly studied martial arts and had been able to avoid and counterattack her opponents. After the bell rang, they stopped, shook hands, and patted each other on the back.

She saw me, looking surprised but happy, and I walked over to her.

"Madison, that was amazing! I didn't know you took martial arts; you seemed more like the type to debate and reason things out than kick someone's ass. But you did a great job defending and attacking your opponents!" I said it with total sincerity.

"Oh really?" She said, surprised, "You sound like you have experience in the subject?"

"Sort of," I started, "when I was a teen, martial arts was something I was really into and good at. I managed to get a 3rd degree on my black belt before I got cancer." I said. "I haven't really kept up with it after that, though, even though I still enjoy it a lot." I finished.

Madison got a devious look on her face. "Well, Matt, I am not quite done training. Would you care to spar with me?" She asked, trying to look nonchalant and non-threatening.

"I don't know Madison. I am not in great shape, and I haven't spared in 15 years! You will probably kill me!" I tried to back out of things.

"Oh, come on, if you can show me you can fight too, the captain is sure to hire you to our precinct; he is kind of a stickler about everyone being able to protect themselves and subdue a perp."

I still didn't think it was a great idea, but if it meant that it might help the program and my ability to get it adapted, I agreed. Luckily, I had loose-fitting and stretchy clothes, so I had a reasonable amount of movement in them.

I kicked off my shoes and socks and stepped onto the mat. I gave Madison a little nod of respect to let her know I was ready, and I got into a fighting stance, as did Madison.

We circled each other when Madison rushed in and grabbed me close to my knees, trying to take me down. I spread my legs and dropped my weight, allowing me to stuff her chance at taking me down.

But when I was going to try and stand up again, she quickly shifted position and hooked her leg around mine, dropping and twisting into a leg bar. As I started to go down, I rolled towards her, allowing me to reduce her leverage and giving me a north-south position on top. I decided to have a bit of fun, so I grabbed both of her thighs above her knees, squeezing hard to stimulate the ticklish response, causing Madison to tense her legs and shout a loud curse at me. I laughed and scrambled to a standing position.

She was not as amused as I was, so I figured I would give her what she wanted. It was my turn to go on the offensive. I came at her with kicks and punches, blocking her counterattacks and keeping the fight on my feet, where I had the reach advantage.
At least that's what I thought.

A well timed spinning sweep collapsed my right leg, causing me to go down on my side hard. Grunting, I felt Madison jump on me, going for the finish.

I was a bit upset by that sweep, and while I had been trying hard to fight with everything I had, I was pulling my punches and watching my techniques so as not to hurt Madison.

I grabbed her arm on my chest and neck from behind my head and pulled with all my might to get her off me.

Then Something happened that I was not expecting.

Madison was thrown off me but landed about 20 feet away on the other side of the mat. Landing hard on her back, she was stunned for a second. But she scrambled to her feet.

"What the hell! How did you do that?" She yelled.

"I don't know!" I said, I don't know how that happened!" I was just as confused as her. "Are you ok?" I asked, concerned.

"I'm fine." She snapped, her attitude changing on a immediately. "This sparing session is done; let's go back to my office." She said she looked at me stranger than usual.

She grabbed her towel and water bottle and headed towards her office, with me in tow. Great, Matt; 'you pissed her off' I thought.

I noticed as we were walking back, there was more swing in her hips; her ass was definitely swaying with her walk. Was this new? Did I just never notice it before? I quickly looked up. If she is pissed and catches me looking at her ass, she is likely to punch me in the nose.

We get to a door that leads to a staircase, and we go down two flights of stairs into the basement. There are rows of shelving with case files on them, and beyond that, there is an office in the corner.

We walked to it. Madison motioned for me to enter, but she still had that odd look on her face. I entered the office and looked around. It had been updated and had a decent amount of good-quality computers and devices that were used to help with the cybercrime division.

I turned to tell Madison she had done a great job. When she threw herself at me, out of instinct, I took her body weight and used her momentum to roll her over me. Now I was on top of her. She tried to push me off, but for some reason again, I was able to easily pin her arms and legs to the ground with my body. I looked down at Madison's face, and it was completely flushed, but I couldn't tell what was going on. I opened my mouth to demand she tell me when::whack:: she did the only thing she could from that position, and she head butted me right in the nose.

"Ouhh moher fuhking BITCH!" I roared, grabbing my nose, hoping it wasn't broken.

She pushed me off of her, but before she could take one step, I decided we were done with this bullshit. "FREEZE!" I yelled with every ounce of willpower I had. Of course Madison froze like a human statue, her eyes taking on a 1000-yard stare.

"You will not move until I release you, do you understand?!" I said it with almost as much vitriol as before.

"Yes, I will not move until you release me." Madison replied in monotone.

I took a minute to lock the door and get some paper towels from the bathroom to clean the blood coming out of my nose and to give my nose a good once over to make sure it wasn't broken.

From what I could tell, it wasn't; it just hurt like a motherfuck. Now it was time to get to the bottom of this shit...

"Madison, why did you attack me just now?!" I said, still as angry as I was before.

"I was testing you," she replied flatly.

"What the hell does that mean 'testing me' testing me for what?" I hissed.

"I was testing to see if you were the chosen one, in the prophecy" She droned.

OK, that got my attention. I looked around and sat at her desk, looking through papers and notes. There were no papers, but her notes had references to a satanic cult, a chosen one, and that she had found a connection between my mother-in-laws scammers and this prophecy. "Madison, what is your username and password for your computer?" I commanded.

"My username is: DtMpeterman,  and my password is: Subm!ssiveSlut69" she stated.

Okay, that raised my eyebrows, so let's go through this methodically, I thought, trying to calm down. I typed in her information and was rewarded with 20 windows of different websites, databases, and pictures. Jesus, hasn't this woman ever heard of closing a window when you're done? Over the course of the next 15 minutes, I was able to read through and cross reference Madison's notes on what she had uncovered...

Another piece of the puzzle
