“Yeah it’s pretty crazy how that happened. Never saw it coming for sure.” I said chuckling.

“Not only him but Aelius with Kolby, Esen with Dylan, and Ajax with Marky.” He said chuckling.

I nodded my head smiling. My pack of demigods. I absentmindedly placed my finger tip on the orb. Suddenly I saw black and red eyes dash upon my vision. I quickly released it. Staring straight ahead. I knew those eyes.

“Are you sure you don’t want to just try the Tea?” He asked again. His eyes unreadable. I shook my head. My stomach turning softly.

“No thanks….uh how is Rex doing?” I asked him.

“He’s fine.” He said softly frowning at his cup.

I nodded my head. Okay dean relax. Just talk and be friendly.

“You know what funny I actually have a fourth mate.” I said chuckling softly.

His eyes widened. “No way really? Who did Ace have a son.” He asked chuckling.

I shook my head. “No uh Zagan.” I stated in thought thinking about my red haired mate hoping he was okay.

“Oh no shit Asher too.” He said chuckling.

I nodded my head smiling and chuckling. Suddenly we heard a crash in the room the windows just out of sight. “Oh dear probably Rex again. I’ll be right back.” He sighed softly.

I nodded my head watching him disappear behind the glass door down the path a bit. Why did I feel weird right now. I was debating why I felt Zagan through the orb. Wait…….Asher…….why did…..why did Maximus know Asher’s name? I felt unsafe now. I summoned stars around me. I heard the crash again. I stood and slowly walked to the glass door Maximus had walked through. Slowly peering behind it. I gasped horrified.

There on the bed one of Rex’s arms had been tied with a belt as had his feet. I saw lamps and books on the floor. The bed was stained red as Rex’s neck had been slit. I saw he was absolutely Dead. I stepped back horrified.

“All you had to do was drink the Tea.” Maximus stated.

I looked over and a few feet away I saw him standing there, a dagger in hand covered in his own mates blood.

I backed up horrified. “You….you?” I asked confused and shocked.

“Yes me. I was the one who sent the assassin. I was the second voice you heard in the room. I am a follower of Zagan.” He stated shrugging his shoulders.

I stared at him shocked. “Why….why would you kill Rex?” I asked.

“Oh because Rex found out about my plan…see he wasn’t a fan of your mates no he didn’t want to give up his seat. However he did respect them as the new Royal Alpha’s. Me however I never liked you. My lord Zagan gave me clear orders to kill you. Quietly sneakily. I told the assassin about the balcony and entrance. Lucky for you your mate started his rut. Then you walked right into our hands. Making all that noise after we left the room, we were only at the bottom of the ladder. Little did we know we had found you there. See Rex grew suspicious of me. Finding me sneaking around your medical room. He’d even seen me leave the storage room after. Just before the guards began to patrol the castle. He was foiling my ability to reach you while you slept. Soon he finally confronted me ready to alert you guys. So I had to tie him up and keep him here. Poisoning him to keep him quiet and asleep. You woke up within an hour of this. My chance gone. Your mates watching always. My lord Zagan grew angry said I failed him and the only way to remedy my mistake was to kill you my self.” He stated nonchalantly.

I nodded my head. No longer shocked. Not even frightened.

“Oh Maximus. It’s a shame for you I don’t like tea huh.” I stated. My stars humming angrily like bees ready to strike.

“Truly. We both know how this will end. Trust me Dean…Zagan has made a plan that’s already underway as we speak. You have no time this is the best option. Drink the tea make this easier for yourself. Make this better for everyone involved, you’ll simply fall asleep and pass. Waking up on the other side likely in your fathers domain.” He sighed.

I nodded my head. He screamed as red ice began to grow out of his palm. I froze his blood inside his body just in the arm. He was old and feeble now. I sighed.

“I’m not a scared boy Maximus. I’ve faced worse.” I stated quietly. Disappointed in him for this.

He groaned in pain. Dropping the dagger. I walked over to him and gripped him by the arm with ice in it. Suddenly he swung around and a blade sunk into my shoulder. I shoved him off me. Wincing as the blade was sunk deep into my collar bone the hilt. I cursed loudly as he collapsed on the floor. I froze my wound. It was evidence if anything. Not like Alpha’s needed it. They could kill someone for having a bad day. I grabbed him by the leg. One arm was all I needed with my Demigodhood amplified by my necklace.

I dragged him down the stairs by his foot as he groaned in pain. Wincing slightly when I used my right shoulder. I led him down the hall and through Beta castle guards gawking as they saw us. Quick to follow closely.

“Your highness are you okay?” One asked horrified.

“I’m fine.” I stated. That was a lie. I was in a lot of pain. I knew my mates must have felt it too. I’m surprised nobody has come yet. Just as I said that as I was dragging Maximus by his foot suddenly a mess of blond, black, and brown hair sprinted through the door to Beta castle from the entrance of the two.

“DEAN OH FUCK ARE YOU OKAY!” Kolby screamed walking over to me.

It was then that I finally tuned into their panic and fear. Sensing it deep inside them. “Yeah fine follow me.” I stated.

“OH FUCK YOUR SHOULDER!” Marky cried panicking.

All three panting seeing me drag Maximus by his foot to the door. His head slamming on each step as he cried loudly with the impact.

“Yeah let’s not talk about it yet otherwise I may freak out.” I said sternly.

They nodded whining and growling for my safety not really caring about Maximus. Far more concerned with the knife in my shoulder. I dragged him down the hall to Alpha castle. My mates offering several times to do it themselves. I ignored them. If I stopped odds were I would scream. I pushed forward until we entered Alpha castle. All the guards and soldiers in the room standing and confused by this turn of events. I dragged Maximus to the center in front of the thrones and dropped him. Signing.

I walked to my throne and sat down. All eyes on me. Now was a time when I needed to show strength. Otherwise another fucker may cost me my alone time. I gripped the blade and with a yank biting back my cry I removed it. Throwing it on the floor next to me. My mates came up and looked at it. I knew they would wanna clean it but I refused. My hand glew white as I healed my shoulder. Relaxing finally as the pain became a tickle.

I relaxed my shoulders. Removing a blade from them was impressive for a beta this I knew. I had to show them all I was worthy of my title and demigod lineage.

I looked at my mates and urged them to sit. They did so reluctantly loud whines escaping their throats. I looked at them back and forth.

“Maximus killed Rex by the way. His body is tied down in their room to the bed.” I stated.

All eyes fell on Maximus who groaned in pain on the floor.

“He worships Zagan….apparently he’s also the one who sent that assassin. He’s the second voice I heard in the storage room. Rex grew wise so he trapped him. I think Rex heard me on the balcony and tried to escape and warn me. Stabbed me when I thought I had gotten the knife away. Turned out he had a second one that landed in my shoulder.” I stated annoyed.

All the Alpha’s in the room growled loudly. Teeth and fangs bared at Maximus. I slumped back into my chair. What a fucking day.

“Seeing as he killed an Alpha and a former Royal one at that. This feels like your guys territory.” I stated.

I stood my mates did as well. I let them look at my shoulder. They studied it seeing it was okay. Not able to help themselves from licking the healed wound clean. It was just their instincts.

“Nobody touch the tea he made as well. He poisoned it luckily for me I hated the tea you guys had me try and he made the same one.” I said calmly.

They nodded concerned still. “Look I….just wanna go back to the den. Someone come with me please.” I asked quietly.

They nodded agreeing. After a quick deliberation Kolby took me in his arms. Carrying me as I rested my head on the crook of his neck. We walked out.

“Guards soldiers you all hated them. So…..rip him apart limb by limb kill this fucker.” Marky growled.

I saw out of frame from the hall as several guards charged the male on the floor. Red began to spatter out of view as a pool of scarlet began to form from a source out of my sight. Screams of agony echoed down the hall. Kolby ran his fingers through my hair. Lowering me into his chest to block my view. I felt Marky and Dylan’s satisfaction and anger. Kolby whispered quietly in my ear. His hands rubbing circles over my back. I closed my eyes inhaling the musk of Kolby’s chest. He kissed my forehead softly.
