What's next?
The next morning and a invitation
The next morning, we woke up feeling refreshed and energetic. We made breakfast together and enjoyed each other's company.
Just as we were finishing our meal, there was a knock on the door.
I opened it to find a messenger standing outside. He respectfully bowed before me.
"Young Master Chen, I am here to deliver an invitation from the Qi family's patriarch. Please accept it."
I raised my eyebrow and took the invitation from him. "Alright, tell him I'll be there. Anything else."
"Yes, he also hopes that your fiancée Young Mistress Qi also attends."
"Of course." I replied and closed the door.
Fang Qiong asked curiously, "What's that?"
I handed her the invitation and she read aloud.
"I invite Young Master Chen and Young Mistress Qi to a private dinner with me at the plum blossom inn tonight. "
Fang Qiong frowned. "Why does he want us to go to dinner with him? He should be busy with the tournament."
I shrugged. "Who knows what goes on in that old man's mind."
Fang Qiong pursed her lips. "I don't trust him. Why don't we just ignore his invitation?"
I shook my head. "No, we can't afford to offend the Qi family right now. Besides, maybe he wants to talk peace."
I chuckled. "Or maybe he wants to hit on you."
Fang Qiong glared at me. "Don't joke about that."
I grinned mischievously. "Why not? From what I heard, Patriarch Qi is quite the hedonist."
Fang Qiong's face flushed red. "Shut up! You're just making things up."
I laughed and pinched her cheek lightly. "Come on, admit it. You're secretly hoping he makes a move on you."
Fang Qiong stuck her tongue out at me. "What if he does?"
I laughed and said, "Then maybe you should give him a chance."
Fang Qiong asked seriously. "Are you sure you will not mind."
I thought about it for a moment and said, "I guess not."
Fang Qiong smiled and said, "Good. Then I will dress up nicely for tonight."
She then went to her room to pick out her clothes for tonight's dinner.
I watched her go with a smile on my face. Fang Qiong was always so confident and sure of herself. It was one of the things I liked about her.
As for Patriarch Qi, I wasn't too worried about him. He might be powerful, but he was also an old man. Even if Fang Qiong has some fun she would always be mine.
