Dev heads home
A night with Aisha
Dev reached home to find Aisha watching Netflix in her comfy clothes. She turned to him as he entered and said with a smile, "Hey! How was your first day?"
"It was good! Though really exhausting. I feel like I'm really spent today." Dev wasn't lying when he said that.
"Aww, yeah I bet, law is so full on! What were the people like? Did you get close with any of them?"
"You could say that," Dev said, avoiding eye contact. Aisha seemed confused for a second. "I mean, I worked with a lot of different people and went out to lunch with a colleague too."
"That's great, honey. If you want to take an early night, I totally understand. It's hard getting back into the swing of things with when you haven't worked in a while." Dev had an 1-month transitional period between his old job and Training Contract.
"Well, I wouldn't mind staying up if it's with you, babe." Dev reached forward and hugged her tight, "I'm sort of in the mood today, do you think you could make it a special day for me?" He reached down lower to her ass, flat though it was, and started kissing her neck.
"Ugh, come on Dev," Aisha replied, disappointed. She stepped away from Dev. "You know how I feel about this. I'm not a personal touch kind of girl," She did air quotes for emphasis, "and I really hate when men link anything with sex, like your caveman brain can't separate a happy moment like a new job without having sex on your mind."
Dev got irritated. He'd never given a shit about the whole Love Language thing, but took a test for her and found Physical Touch was big for him - much to the dismay of Aisha who was the opposite. Still, he felt inferior because Aisha never took to him like other girls had. Now, he no longer thought about what was wrong with him. What the hell is wrong with HER?"
Dev just sighed. He looked her up and down and felt for the first time he was seeing her for what she truly looked like: skinny legs, no ass, chubby waist, flat chest, mid face, scruffy hair. Dev sighed again. "I'm going to sleep Aisha. Goodnight." He never called her by her name.
"You're not seriously mad at me about this, are you? I mean genuinely, what is wrong with men... do I have to prove how I feel about you by being an object for you every time you ask..."
Dev knew he could argue with her for hours but chose peace. As she continued to lecture, he had dinner, went to bed and slept.
Tomorrow was a new day.
