The faint pulsing.

I start to feel that same pulsing sensation surging that went through my body at the ball. I let go of Delilah. "Delilah step back." She does this, "come back quickly." Her tone is filled with fear but I sense something in her voice....it's hope. "Delilah I promise I'll come back." Confidence has returned to my voice as the pulsing has filled my entire body I feel lighter than ever almost like a paper bag. "Amanda open the barrier." As soon as she does this another volley of quills flies at me. I just smile and stand their I wanted to make sure Amanda had enough time to close the barrier. The barrier is slowly closing I just continue to watch as the quills get closer as I look behind to see the barrier is full closed I turn back to see the quills are mere inches from me. Suddenly time starts to slow down as I move. I push one quill aside as I move forward than another and another I continue to move forward till there are no more quills in front of me. I stop I'm momentarily stunned that I pulled that off, the beast are looking at each other I think their about as stunned as I am. I recover from my shock and begin walking to them. These beast made Delilah cry this is something I find....well unforgivable. I move quickly before they recover I punch one in the face I literally feel its skull disintegrate as it falls limply to the ground. They charge me in response....not their best move. The next five minutes are filled with me easily dodging their feeble attempts to do me any harm and killing each of them. There are only five left I walk forward. "Wait." I'm in disbelief as to what just happened one of them spoke. "We surrender." it lets out in a low growl. I sigh I'm still unhappy that they made Delilah cry but maybe I could use this to my advantage. "fine but on one condition I pull the map we need to make it to this position you. I point to the one I'm talking to will show us the safest and quickest way to this place understood?" "I understand and accept your terms." "Good." I begin to walk away but then turn around. "Oh and if you betray me I'll kill you slowly with this." I pull out Annabel's knife. "I understand he says. I turn away from them and make it back to my group. The pulsing sensation has faded I let out a yawn. My group is staring at me like I have two heads..."What?" "Do I have blood on my face?" They just keep staring. I start to squirm under their gaze. "Stop staring!" My voice comes out exasperated, Delilah walks up to me smiling. "Antonio do you realize what just happened?" "um not really?" "You amplified your power,when did you learn how to do that." "um Delilah I have no idea what you're talking about." Abby suddenly interjects "I think it was at the ball Delilah remember the sudden increase in power and the feeling of all exhaustion leaving your body....well that's what happened to me." Delilah lightly strikes her head "of course I was just so busy I didn't think about it."

"Don't you remember what I told you at the food court?" "Of course." I state plainly. "Well you just used that ability." Her tone was authoritative leaving no room for question. "Understood." Something tells me questioning her would've just ended up in me getting scolded. Titan teases putting an arm around my shoulder. I was starting to look up to Titan like a big brother...he certainly teased me like one. "Alright alright enough teasing." I said. "We're going to have a long day tomorrow we should get some sleep." My eyes fall to the pilots I let out a sigh "but we should bury our dead first." We bury the pilots it doesn't take long.

Abby and Zack take the first watch the rest of us walk into the cruiser. "So Antonio are you and Delilah gonna have sex tonight cause if so I wanna heads up so I can put ear plugs in." Titan jokes. "Shut up Titan." Delilah and I say in tandem. Amanda and Kyle just laugh. Tina has already picked her on the floor furthest from the two holes. "Hey I'm just saying that maybe you guys shouldn't do that tonight cause we all want to get some sleep. Titan just keeps on going but we take it in stride, "well maybe we'll be extra loud just for you tonight Titan. Delilah fires back. We all just start laughing. We finally settle down and pick our spots on the floor they all fall asleep....I can't sleep a wink the floor is just too uncomfortable. I get up and go outside....it's freezing how are Zack and Abby staying warm? Then I spot them cuddling by the fire. I just go back inside don't want to mess with Zack's mojo. I just lie back on the floor for what seems like hours. My eyes finally start to feel heavy as I finally go to sleep. I suddenly feel myself shaking my eyes fly open and see Titan shaking me. "my turn for watch?" I ask. He nods, "alright." I rub my eyes and walk outside it's a little warmer than when I came out here and saw Zack and Abby. Judging from the color of the sky which was turning light blue so it was probably close to dawn. My eyes fall to Delilah I approach her and sit next to her "Good morning Antonio!" She says this in her usual chipper way. I swear no normal person should be this happy considering what we went through last night, but that's Delilah it must take a lot to break her. "Morning." my voice is tired. That's all we say to each other I also notice the Fretook is sleeping by a tree. About three hours pass I break the silence " Delilah how did you know the name of the squad we are searching for." She get a little smile on her face "lets just say it's my job to know these things. Why was she being secretive I'm about to ask her what she means but then I feel the ground shake beneath me.
