Breakfast

DAVID POV

As Rio strode into the dining hall, his presence commanded attention. Despite his youth, there was an undeniable air of authority about him, a reminder of his privileged status as the heir to the household. As my gaze fell upon him, I couldn't help but feel a swell of pride in my chest. After all, he was my son – my flesh and blood, destined for greatness.

"Good morning, Father," Rio said, his voice tinged with the confidence of youth. "What do we have for breakfast today?"

My heart swelled with affection as I regarded my youngest son. Despite the trials and tribulations of this fractured world, Rio remained a beacon of hope – a symbol of everything I had fought for and everything I hoped to achieve. And as I looked into his eyes, I knew that no matter what challenges lay ahead, he would face them with courage and determination.

"Good morning, Rio," I replied, my voice softening with affection. "Today, we have a special treat for you – your favorite breakfast, prepared with love and care by our devoted servants."

With a wave of my hand, I motioned for the servants to begin setting up the table, their movements swift and efficient. But as the first dish was placed before Rio, I couldn't help but notice the look of disappointment that flickered across his face.

"This doesn't look very appetizing," Rio remarked, his tone tinged with disappointment. "I was hoping for something more... indulgent."

My heart sank at the sight of Rio's crestfallen expression. Despite my best intentions, it seemed that I had failed to meet his expectations once again. But then, a spark of inspiration ignited within me – a chance to make things right, to show Rio just how much he meant to me.

"Forgive me, Rio," I said, my voice filled with remorse. "It seems that I have made an oversight. But fear not – I shall rectify this mistake immediately."

With a quick nod to the servants, I issued a new command – to prepare another breakfast, one that would truly satisfy Rio's discerning palate. And as the scent of freshly cooked pancakes filled the air, I knew that this time, I had gotten it right.

As Rio took his first bite of the fluffy, golden pancakes, a smile spread across his face – a smile that warmed my heart and filled me with a sense of pride unlike any other. In that moment, I knew that no matter what challenges lay ahead, as long as Rio was by my side, we would overcome them together.
