Chapter 6

Backyard run

Sam caught up to Jack rather easily as the two naked and muddy women left the park, streaking across the street as they came up to the first house on the block. The two jumped up and climbed over the fence of the first backyard, throwing themselves over...

*SQUEAK!*

Jack stepping on a rubber bone as she landed, the two women briefly looking down at the rubber toy. As Jack and Sam lifted their heads to look at each other, a low growling noise caused them to turn their heads towards a dog house where a pit bull emerged, snarling at the naked and muddy intruders in it's yard.

"Uh... N-nice, Puppy..." Sam stammered as she and Jack slowly backed away.

The pit bull barked loudly, causing Jack to yell as she turned and ran before Sam yelped and did the exact same thing. The dog gave chase as the two women charged towards another fence, jumping over it...

*SPLASH!*

*SPLASH!*

And landing in a swimming pool, the water washing away the mud. A few seconds later, the two erupted from the water gasping and sputtering as Sam began to swim across the pool to the other side, climbing the ladder as Jack continued to splash and sputter.

"Help! PLEASE!" Jack begged as she coughed, "I can’t swim!"

"Like I'm gonna fall for that!" Sam spat as she briefly shook herself off before making her way to the fence seperating the second yard from the third. "I may be blonde, but I'm not stupid!"

"NO! I really can't swim! HELP ME!"

"Keep screaming, maybe the owner of this house will help you before they call the police." Sam said as she began to climb the other fence. As she pulled herself up, she paused after the sounds of splashing and yelling stopped. Raising an eyebrow, Sam looked over her shoulder to see bubbles coming up to the surface of the pool. "You might as well stop, because I'm not falling for that!"

"..."

"You're going to be streaking back to the campus if you don't get your fat ass out of that pool, you meatheaded Bitch!"

"..."

"... Uh, Jack?" Sam asked, looking a little worried after Jack continued to remain under. Chuckling nervously, she jumped down and turned back to the pool. "O-okay, Jack. You got me! This isn't funny anymore. You can come up now."

Sam's stomach dropped as the bubbles stopped. "Oh shit! You were serious!"

Without thinking, Sam dove back into the pool, submerging herself under the water as she swam towards the **** Hockey Captain. Sam grabbed Jack and dragged her back to the surface, gasping for air as she bursted from the water and carried her to the edge of the pool. Placing her on the pool deck, Sam climbed out of the pool again before kneeling next to Jack. The Cheer Captain rhythmically began pressing down on Jack's chest before taking a deep breath and breathing air into the latter's lungs, repeating the process several more times before Jack finally gasped and sat up straight.

Jack coughed and hacked up water, her vision blurry as she shook her head. As her vision cleared, she made direct eye contact with Sam as a look of shock came to her face. "You... You just saved my life."

"You're -"

"Why the fuck didn't you help me before I passed out?!" Jack exclaimed as she shoved Sam away before getting to her feet with a glare. "I was literally begging for help!"

"Hey! How the fuck was I supposed to know you couldn't swim, you ungrateful bitch?!" Sam fired back, glaring Jack down. "And would it kill you to just say thank you?! I could have easily just let you drown!"

"Then why didn't you?!"

"Because I -" Sam shouted, her words dying on her tongue. Why had she saved Jack? Jack was making enough noise that she could've gotten the attention of the homeowners. She knew she'd be wasting time saving her rival, and it wasn't like Jack would've done the same for her. "I... Uh... Well, like you said. I hate you, but nobody's that heartless, right?"

Jack raised an eyebrow skeptically with a frown.

"... Look! Let's just call it even and pretend this never happened. Okay? Okay." Sam said as she shook her head.

"Hey! What the fucking hell is going on out there?!"

Sam and Jack both turned eggshell white as they turned towards the house, an obese man in his thirties standing in the backdoor in a pair of black boxers with a skinny woman in a pink bathrobe standing next to him. Both homeowners glaring at them.

"I'm callin' the cops, Morty!" The woman in the robe snapped in a thick Jersey accent.

Sam and Jack yelped as they turned red, making a mad dash towards the fence and jumping into the third backyard. The two ignored the yelling couple as they jumped the third fence leading to the fourth yard.

"For the record, we're not even!" Jack spat as they ran through the the garden of the fourth yard.

"What the hell does that mean?!" Sam asked, jumping over a koi pond. "We're totally even!"

"No! I saved you from being arrested, and you saved me from being six feet under!"

"Fine! You owe me then!" Sam said as they climbed the fence into the fifth yard.

"I don't owe you anything, Bitch!"

"Then why did you bring it up?!"

"To ask why you saved me!" Jack said as they climbed into the sixth yard.

"Look! I don't know, alright! I know you wouldn't have bothered to -"

"What?! I am not a murderer! I totally would've saved your sorry ass!"

"First off, even if I had left you behind, and nobody came to save you, it would've been labeled an accidental drowning! Not ****, since I didn't know you can’t swim!" Sam shouted as they passed a sleepy bloodhound that merely watched them jump the fence into the seventh yard before laying it's head back down. "Second - Luau!"

"What the fuck does that mean?!" Jack asked as she landed, looking up and freezing next to Sam as they found themselves in the seventh backyard, the yard in question decorated with a Hawaiian theme...

And the backdoor of the house slowly opening...
