I felt a little guilty, heading back into the classroom following Garringer. Picking Amber felt like I was betraying her. Of her, Carisse and Olivia out of the women I knew in the class, Amber was the one I knew the best. I followed his direction, taking a seat at one of the empty tables in the lecture hall.

“Alright,” Garringer said thoughtfully. I wasn’t sure if he was playing it up or not. “If I’m remembering you all correctly, I believe Miss Verwolf would be a good fit for testing my theory. Please join Mr Mathews.”

Amber, looking surprised, turned and said something to the guy who had been her current table partner and gathered her things, then stood up and came over to join me. She smiled one her way as our eyes met, and she grinned a little broader as she slid into the seat next to me. “Hey,” she said with a little excitement. “Special notice on the first day. Big stuff!”

She was an impressive woman. Not in stature, but in drive and beauty. Amber was barely five foot and the sort of skinny fit that came with lots of dedication to the gym. Garringer handed off the class back to Sinclair, who took to the lectern again with a smile. “Now that we have all the housekeeping out of the way,” she said. “As I was saying - this is a Practicum course and the best way to learn some things is in person and hands-on. Today’s lesson is about a fundamental building block - Arousal. So everyone please disrobe and we’ll get started.”

Not a single person baulked, and I stood up slowly along with everyone else and started pulling off my T-shirt.

The class immediately filled with voices as we all sat down and the conversations sparked up.
