The food start to come and the two of you eat together with the occasional short chat.

To Samantha you had first remove her core passion and main method of presentation, that of being a book nerd, then you removed her ability to feel passion at all.

This is something you caused. Digging deeper and removing layer after layer of Samantha you uncovered a new side of her a lot more sad. Yes, it's not going to last. You will give her trait back, but it will be forever changed. Would she be Samantha still?

"I'm so sorry..." You whisper, more for your sake and your sanity than hers. She snaps out of her trance for a moment.

"Huh-what? You said something?"

"Ah- Oh..." You stumble your words. "Yes... I'm s-sorry I'm bringing down the mood... awkward silence and all" You mutter, scratching the back of your neck nervously.

"Oh, there's really no problem. I'm having fun." She responds quietly with a smile.

Your heart feels that. You can see in her eyes she is not just being polite. It's... It's weird. You see the young librarian working with you again in those eyes, being silent and nerdy and caring about her job. With all that happened today, and the surge of power that the watch gave you, you were almost forgetting who you were talking to. The person from yesterday, and the day before that. You can't help but feel nostalgic.

You hear the beeping of the watch. You look down at the new combination: FITNESS-ENTHUSIAST

Were you really going to give her this combo without thinking?
