Chapter 7

Does anything happen during the night?
No
I wake up cuddling Abby, her warm body pressed against me. We must have moved closer during the night. I try to extricate myself without waking her, but fail. Abby yawns. “Good morning John! How’d you sleep?” She says, sitting up. The blanket falls off, revealing her dusky nipples.
Despite the erotic scene I manage to stay composed. “I slept well, thanks.” I get up from the bed, stretching as I do so. “We should get going Abby we have to decide what pokemon we want on our team next.”
“Ok! Sounds great!”
“Good. Do you have any ideas?”
“No… not really.”
“Yeah, me either. What if we go to the gym? Maybe we could see some of the different pokemon there.”
“Sounds great master!”
With that decided, we both get dressed for the day and head downstairs. “Hey!” The nurse/receptionist greets us. “You two sounded like you were having a lot of fun up there!” She giggles. “You should let me join next time!” Abby and I blush. “Maybe Abby says. She takes my hand, still blushing and pulls me out of the pokemon center.
It’s a beautiful day, not even too hot yet, with the sun low in the sky. Abby is looking at everything in amazement, this being her first time in even a small city. I soon see a map detailing important places and find the gym on it. It’s just a few blocks away. I look in the direction the map indicated and there it is! A massive building, I’m honestly not sure how I missed it when I came in last night.
“Abby! The gym is over there!” I call out to her. “Abby walks over to me. “Good spot master!” We begin walking toward the large building, excited to see what a pokemon gym is about.
The pokemon gym has a sign above the entrance, seemingly carved out of rock. “Pewter city gym huh?” I say to myself. “My first gym, wonder when I’ll get the badge for it.” I enter the gym, expecting crowds of people. But there’s almost nobody here! “I was expecting more people.” I say aloud. A man with some of the squintiest eyes I have ever seen, speaks. “Well. You’re a little late for the crowds. My gym is considered the easiest of the bunch. You’re here about halfway through the season.” His voice is very gruff for how young he seems. “I’m Brick by the way, leader of this gym.”
“Wow! The leader of the gym!”
“Yup, what I just said. You here to challenge me?”
“Well, I’ve only got one pokemon…”
“Eh, no problem, I just won’t make you face my backup trainers before you fight me.”
“Alright then! Let’s do this!”
“Cool, arenas over here.” Brick walks off, toward a large patch of dirt littered with boulders and fenced off with steel wire. “Alright Abby! Let’s win this!” I yell. “Yeah!” Abby responds in kind.
We enter into the arena, Brick stands in the other side of the field. “Go! Geogal!” A rock tumbles out of the ball, quickly sprouting arms. It floats about a foot above the dirt floor. “Don’t be intimidated by it defying gravity Abby! It’s still just a rock!” Abby nods, readying her fists. “Alright!” Brick yells. “Fight start!” I yell “Abby! Use brick break!” My pokemon rushes across the arena, kicking up clouds of dust. She punches the geogal, sending shockwaves through its rocky body. “Geogal!” Brick yells “Use boulder!” The rock somehow materializes a bigger rock, throwing it at Abby.” My Lucario manages to dodge, only getting grazed by the boulder that surely would have knocked her out if it had connected.
“Abby! Do it again! Brick break!” Abby charges the geogal once more, raising her fist to hit the enemy pokemon. Her fist lands, producing a noticeable dent in the geogal, knocking it out. “Impressive!” Brick yells. “But I still have another pokemon! Onyx!” He throws out a pokeball, this time unleashing a massive rock snake onto the arena floor. “Onyx! Use coil!” The rock snake moves with surprising speed, easily coiling around Abby, almost crushing her with its grip. It coils tighter, cutting off her air causing her to faint. “And that’s a wrap!” Brock says, walking toward me. “Hey, you did good. You just need a few more pokemon, maybe beat a couple of wild pokemon as well.” He claps a hand on my shoulder. “I’m sure you’ll win next time.”
I put Abby back into her pokeball and rush her to the pokemon center. “Lost at the gym?” The nurse asks. “Yeah… I should have know I’d need more pokemon.” I give the nurse Abby’s pokeball and head outside to gather my thoughts.
