Act I

Today was the big day after nine years finally Alex gets out of that hellish place, he even prepared for the event he cut his hair and fixed his beard finally put on clothes that were not the prison uniform he had dreamed about a year at this time.

Alexander Sutton "is free to go", the guard tells him after returning his belongings and accompanying to the door.

After 9 years in prison, he finally got out, 9 years of hallucinations because after three years in juvenile prison because of a fight he participated was sent to adult prison and had to do the remaining years struggling to survive. All because of a stupid convenience store robbery in Michigan.

After a night on the bus, woke up in the morning back to town, he had a lot to do and for the first time he stopped at Carlos' house, he didn’t know but there were all my friends who wanted to give him a welcome back party, all happy that he had never mentioned names and that he had shown loyalty.

Carlos after lunch proposes to accompany him for a ride, while we were in the car a patrol of cops signals us to pull over, Carlos tries to escape but in the escape a tanker truck comes out of a shed and blocks the road, can’t break in time and a big accident happens where the two cars end up under the truck that starts pouring liquid on.

Both the cops and Carlos seem dead they do not move, Alex has a sore arm comes out of the car to escape, is all covered by liquid that begins to burn on contact with the skin, as he escapes he hears the first sirens in every direction he decides to hide in a dark underpass. The arm continues to hurt but the greatest pain now is to one leg finds it difficult to walk, the pains extend to the chest and head, he has pains wherever he feels burn all the skin seems to him his body is burning from the inside, completely bent from the pains is hidden under the sheets hoping not to be seen.

He hears a passing car above him and the cops are furious they found their colleagues and even Carlos dead, they are looking for a white guy with a beard and red hair in his 20s. The pains are gradually disappearing and he feels strong again indeed he had never felt better, he tries to move away to escape and makes a few blocks, but he knows that they are creating a perimeter and he must leave before the dog arrives.

As he walks down an alley to go to the subway he hears "police standing where you are, hands up" a woman yells at him behind her back, hoping he’s alone and not calling reinforcements thinks in his head Alex as he turns, "hands behind my head and kneeling" The woman continues, turns but notices that she does not call support does not warn that she found him.

She calmly approaches him handcuffed and puts him on a wall, then stares at him and begins to walk back and forth as if he did not know what to do, Alex asks "because we are here alone and you have not let us know that you have caught me", the policewoman very quietly answered "Because you asked me not to call for backup." Alex is amazed why a policewoman should do what I say, but above all she just thought those things.

He decides to try again and in his head he thinks "put the gun in the holster and remove the handcuffs" she like an automaton puts away the gun and takes off the handcuffs, Alex is upset, speechless he just found out that it can condition people, has mental powers. He has to use them to get out of this situation, turning to the woman says "you have a partner or you live alone" and she says "I live and I don’t have a partner" then orders her "Give me the address and the keys to the house, after I run away, tell me you saw me in the opposite area where we are, and you can’t tell anyone about our meeting"

Alex now has a place to hide, the policewoman hands him the keys then takes the radio, while she runs away, hears "Lieutenant Keller, I saw the suspect heading towards" then walks away, direction the lieutenant’s house.

Just getting to Lakeview seems like a dream, he still remembers when I was growing up and with his friends he came to these areas to imagine what their life would be like, and now he was entering the building using keys, but before arriving at the elevator Alex is blocked by the doorman "Boy where you think to go, get out now or I call the police" the doorman intimidates him. Alex as he continues to walk thinks "Instead you will let me up and everything will seem normal, for dinner bring me a beef steak with a side of potatoes from a good restaurant in the area in Lieutenant Keller’s apartment" and the doorman responds obediently "certainly without any problem, excuse me for earlier".

I was in the alley because two agents died so we were all in the street, I arrived first because I was in the area to be with an informant".
