A day of normal sibling bonding
Viella returned almost immediately after Rose left. He suspected she had maybe been waiting for that, **** to immediately face them both at the same time now that the heat of passion had worn off. He didn’t blame her for that, and he didn’t want to **** her to talk about it too much. He just made sure she felt good about it all, which she did, if a bit embarrassed. He also emphasized the need for secrecy, which earned him a very teenager kind of “do you think I’m an idiot” look. That was fair enough.
They spent the rest of the day just being regular siblings, which Vel was happy about. He loved his little sister plenty as just his little sister. And they’d not really had a good chance to really talk and catch up just the two of them since mending their relationship. He also decided to give his powers a bit of a rest. His mind seemed to welcome it. He’d made extensive use of them pretty much all morning, and the fatigue that constant pain brought with it didn’t help.
It turned out they had both missed a few developments in the life of the other. Viella, who had never taken to riding very well, had renewed her efforts to get better at it. She’d not dared asked Vel for help during their brief estrangement, but she did now. “Of course I’d be happy to help you with that, Princess, but we better take Adi along too.” Viella seemed surprised but not displeased. “Oh, why?” Vel gave her a slightly sad smile. “Because, while I am a great rider, there are a lot of things I can’t do. I can’t help you into the saddle, I can’t lead your horse by the bridle, and should something happen, I can’t immediately leap out of my saddle to help you.” He picked up on embarrassment and guilt from Ella, she clearly felt bad for forgetting his disability or not taking it into account. He obviously didn’t mind and sought to reassure her. “It’s okay, Ella, there’s nothing to feel bad about. It’s okay to forget that your brother is a cripple now and again. Hells, I prefer that to always just being seen as the crippled sibling.” Ella seemed shocked by his choice of words. “Vel! You’re not a, you shouldn’t call yourself a-“ He appreciated the sentiment, but interrupted her. “A what? A cripple? And why not, it is what I am. I’ve come to terms with it, and I know it is not all I am, but there’s no point denying that I am one.” She still seemed a bit uncomfortable with the term Vel was using, he decided it would be best to just move on to a different subject.
They kept chatting about this and that for hours, both lying on the bed together but not really close enough to cuddle. Eventually, Ella convinced Vel to read her a book. It was something he had often done when they were younger, but he thought it was a bit strange to do now that she was perfectly capable of reading one on her own. “But it’s not the sameeee! Please, Vel, it will be so nice!” He relented, and it was pretty nice indeed. He resolved not to lose sight of what was important, and to preserve this. Whatever else his little sister would be to him, she would remain his little sister. He would not risk losing this because he got too horny. Luckily, that wouldn’t really be a concern with his other sisters. There was nothing to lose with Lynn and Dina. He kind of liked the thought of turning Dina into a **** or something. With Adeline there was no danger of screwing anything up. Their relationship had never been an entirely normal sibling one. He knew her completely now, and knew they were unbreakable. The new dynamic posed no danger to their existing sibling dynamic, their relationship had just finally become what it was always meant to be. His wandering thoughts must have caused him to stop reading, as Ella gently nudged him in the ribs and told him to continue.
