The Rabbit Heroine: Miruko

“Yes, Miruko-san. I’m heading back to UA just fine,” Izuku replies over the phone, having been called by his newest mentor.

“Well, I’m not sure how you brats manage. For all I know, you’ll be lost the minute I take my eyes off of you,” the rabbit heroine responds through his speaker.

“You are aware that we are adults, right?” Izuku deadpans at her attitude.

“And you’re just a fresh maggot in my eyes, I gotta to break you in somehow. Who know what you’ll get up to!” Miruko bites back, Izuku already able to imagine the smug grin on her face.

“Miruko-san, you were the one who invited me to intern with you,” Izuku reminds her, fighting the urge to roll his eyes.

“Yeah yeah, just ‘cause I don’t want to see your potential go the waste,” Miruko comments, the highest amount of praise Izuku had gotten so far from the usually abrasive heroine.

(Ding dong)

Izuku looks up at the sudden chime in his train cabin, feeling the train starting to slow down, “Arriving at UA campus, Musutafu.”

“Well I’m at my stop, so no need to worry Miruko-san,” Izuku sighs as he pulls himself out of his seat.

“Sure sure, just don’t forget to show up on time tomorrow! We’ve got a patrol to look forward too and villains to stomp in!” Miruko laugh on the other side of the phone as Izuku couldn’t help but smile at the thought of working with one of his favorite heroes again.

“You got it, Miruko-san. I’ll be there right in the morning!” Izuku cheerfully answers.

“Good, now don’t call me unless it’s an emergency. I’ve got shit to do!” Miruko says, but as Izuku goes to respond, the rabbit heroine shuts off the call.

With a sigh, Izuku slides his phone into his utility belt and steps off the train platform, his costume a little scuffed up from the training she had put him through. Walking out onto the streets with UA’s grand campus in sight, the cool air of a nice afternoon was refreshing after his long day of work.

Approaching the massive UA security gate, Izuku spots a familiar black and pink costume heading inside, his best friend Uraraka Ochako coming back after her own work study as well. Jogging up to her, Izuku calls out as he waves his hand through the air.

“Uraraka-san!” Izuku yells as the heroine-in-training turns to his voice, blushing slightly as he walked up to her.

“Deku! What a surprise to see you here!” Uraraka smiles as she greets her crush, Izuku stepping up to her as they pass through the campus gate.

“With how busy everyone’s been recently, it is a bit of a surprise to see anyone anymore,” Izuku grins as he rubs the back of his neck anxiously, “But how have you been, Uraraka-san?”

“Good! Ryukyu’s been great to learn under again, and with Tsu-chan too!” Uraraka says as she pumps her fist in the air.

“So you’re still working with Asui-san too? Where is she by the way?” Izuku asks, wondering where the froggy woman was.

“She left a little before me since I stayed behind to finish up some reports. But at least it meant I got to see you though!” Uraraka giggle as Izuku blushes slightly at her words.

(FLASH!)

Around them, a pink glow shines all around them, the sky fading into the same vibrant color as they both stop in shock. It was an abnormal sight, but not entirely unseen thing in their quirky world.

“Uh, that’s weird to see,” Uraraka comments as she looks around curiously.

“I wonder if it’s from a quirk manifestation,” Izuku mutters as Uraraka gives him a smile, seeing her best friend absorbed into his thoughts.

It wouldn’t have been the most underheard of thing, but Izuku could only hope that it was just a visual change. If it had to do with some villain attack, he was sure he would be contacted soon enough, but there was no need to worry for now.

“So… any plans for tonight?” Uraraka asks, taking a step closer to the green-haired hero.

“Not really. I haven’t given it too much thought with how much work Miruko-san has been putting me through,” Izuku answers as they walk up the steps to the main UA building.

But before Izuku could step inside, he feels his phone vibrate in his utility belt, reaching to answer whoever it was that was calling him.
