Does Rose win the Felix?
Yes, she perfectly makes the potion
Even with Pansy breathing down her neck, Rose easily makes the best brew with the help of the old potion book. Slughorn gives her a look after she finishes brewing. "Well, well, well, Miss Smith, you're a natural."
Rose blushed and smiled. She didn't know how she did it, or why she was able to do it. All she did was follow the directions, and ingredients in the book. The black words and drawings assist her in winning the lucky elixir. "Thanks, professor. I just followed the recipe. That's all."
"Hmph. Most students can't even handle to make the basic ones. My girl you're a raw talent. Maybe maybe..." He thought something over as he dropped a few items into the bubbling tincture. They disintegrate as it hits the draught of the living dead. "So marvelous Miss Smith. You are now the proud owner of Felix."
Pansy was livid, stomping her feet like a child. "This isn't fair. I should've got a chance at the potion. It was rigged."
"Now, now. You don't have to be a sore loser, Pansy. I didn't give her a hint, or any special treatment. She earned the luck. Be a good sport."
Rose took the bottle, pocketing it. She felt like she'd won a major victory. On her first day of classes, she bested everyone. Her first step of perhaps regaining confidence in herself.
Hermione looks over, her brown hair a bit poofy, her brown eyes loaded with curiosity. Conceivably jealousy rises at the new girl who managed to outsmart her.
