Chapter 3

Is anyone around?
The coast is clear.
Outside the hallway was entirely deserted. The majority of the guests in attendance at the hotel that weekend were for Alexa and Daniel’s wedding and the few that weren’t thankfully had better things to do than wander the corridors outside Vinny’s room.
“All clear,” he called softly back into his room letting Alexa know she could come out.
Despite being told the coast was clear Alexa still took a glance down both ends of the hallway to make sure. Alone, she leaned in and kissed Vinny softly on the lips. “Good. I’m not going to be late,” Alexa sighed as she hugged Vinny’s taunt torso. “I’ll see you at the rehearsal dinner and I’ll try and find a way to sneak away later.”
“Do I get to have you again later?” Vinny grinned excitedly.
“Only if it’s safe.”
In the lead-up to her nuptials, Alexa’s libido had gone into overdrive which Vinny was extremely grateful for. Any chance she could to sneak away and see Vinny Alexa had taken. They’d been having sex almost daily the past week which was a high point for them.
As Alexa walked off down the hall, Vinny took another chance to admire his lover’s ass, picturing it as it had been just a few minutes ago. Bent over, impaled on his cock before being covered in his cum. Vinny really hoped Alexa could get away again that night.
Back in his room, Vinny turned the TV on and brought up Showtime Boxing. On the box was a panel show discussing the upcoming fight of some YouTube nobody who was going to be fighting a washed-up former champ. Vinny wished it was him, but he was neither famous enough nor old and crippled enough for a glorified amateur to risk getting in the ring with. Two years retired, Vinny would barely need a 4-week camp to mop the floor with Jogan Saul or whatever the punk's name was no matter how good he claimed to be.
After showering and changing into a decent pair of slacks and a shirt, Vinny made his way down to the Hotel Bar which is where Daniel had organised for all his Groomsmen to meet him. The bar was just off the lobby and occupied the former treasury building’s sitting room. Inside were dozens of red suede chairs organised into groups of four around a short centre table. Alexa’s groom Daniel sat at one of these settings together with his older brother Kyall and Daniel’s former college roommate Christopher.
As Vinny approached the group stood up to greet him.
“There he is. Here’s another one,” Daniel greeted before stepping in to give Vinny a quick manly hug. “You know my brother Kyall and Chris?”
Vinny did. As he and Alexa’s arrangement had continued, Vinny had been unwillingly drawn into her new social circle. Once Vinny had the unsavoury pleasure of meeting Alexa’s boyfriend, it had only been a matter of time before he’d been introduced to his close family and friends at one party or another. Vinny liked Daniel’s brother much better than he did Daniel. It was unsurprising as he wasn’t sharing a lover with Kyall after all. Vinny too enjoyed the company of Christopher. They both shared a similar background as athletes although Chris’s profession had been in football, if only the Canadian leagues for a short handful of seasons. He’d since gone on into coaching as Vinny was starting out now. Perhaps it would give them something to talk about as the wedding went on.
Vinny shook hands with Kyall and Chris before Kyall asked Vinny what he was drinking. The older man going to the bar to get Vinny a whiskey and water when prompted.
“How’s training coming?” Chris asked Vinny when it was just the trio of boys.
“Good. I’ve got a young prospect who’s having his first fight next weekend as a matter of fact.”
“That is great. Best of luck to him then,” Chris offered politely.
“Thanks. I think he’s got the skills to do good.” Turning to Daniel Vinny asked, “So who else are we waiting for?”
“My boss Aaron. He was late getting away from work this afternoon so probably won’t be joining us till later in the evening.”
Vinny nodded at this. Aaron was a business owner who employed a lot of people. Vinny had a lot of respect for the successful man.
“Just the four of us for now then,” Vinny commented just as Kyall returned with his drink. “Shall we propose a toast in the meantime?”
The group looked to Vinny to say something as he held up his glass.
“To Daniel. A man far luckier than he has any right to be for marrying the beautiful Alexa.”
To Daniel!

The Groomsman
One vow broken already
Alexa should be preparing to say, "I do," to her fiancée, instead she's saying, "I'll do anything," with one of his groomsmen.
