The Benevolent Patriarch

Super-powers are the great equalizer. The common physical differences imposed by sexual dimorphism are irrelevant in a world of super powers. What does it matter if men are bigger built when a superheroine can shoot lasers from hey eyes? Many superheroines are naturally celebrated, around the world, as icons of women's empowerment, role models for the little girls of the world.

Not everyone considers that to be a good thing. Take this notorious villain, who has dubbed himself "The Benevolent Patriarch". Although his origins are mysterious, he claims to be the product of superior breeding. The superhuman strength, agility, and speed it grants him have allowed him to stand toe-to-toe with some of earth's mightiest defenders. His quest is ideological, not explicitly criminal. He believes in a world where men rule and their wives stay at home, barefoot and pregnant.

He's a handsome man, in his late 40s with dark hair, a full beard, and strips of grey near his temples. The robe-like costume he wears exposes a hairy, barrel chest. More then a few women, who might otherwise be repulsed by his message, have probably quietly admitted that he's an Adonis of a man.

Numerous Superheroines have tangled with the Patriarch before. Although they try to send him to prison, he usually escapes and returns to his island sanctuary. It is said that he's built a "utopia" for himself there. The many women he's taken to wife, and the children he's sired, are cloistered there in a cult-like polygamous society. There his wives live their lives under a code that emphasizing obedience and worship for their Master-Husband. Birth-control is shunned and it is said that, aside from his stints in prison on the mainland, none of his wives are left un-impregnated for very long.

For an independent and powerful superheroine, choosing to marry him would be tantamount to a life of slavery. Yet, even if only in secret, some might yearn for exactly such a husband...
