Chapter 21 by Throne65

Does she accept the offer?

Out of humor, yes

"Why is R'lyeh not?" Idh-Yaa asked. "Can't wait to see how this guy does it."

Lucy held up a finger. "Oh, and could you...?"

"Alright, fine, I'll fix your pets!" Idh-Yaa snapped.

In an instant, Buddy, Hailey, and Kyle stopped jabbering and laughing. Lucy helped Kyle to his feet and shook his shoulders. "Hey! Kyle? You with us?"

Kyle took a few steady breathes and placed a hand over his bare chest to ease his heart. "What...what was that? I don't even know what...I saw..."

Idh-Yaa snapped her fingers in front of his face. "Focus, mortal! Wow us with your expertise of solving celestial dating problems!"

Kyle came to his senses and blinked away his confusion. He felt momentarily distracted by Idh-Yaa's nudity and Cthulhu's massive penis. "I...wow, how do you...okay."

The man clapped his hands together to focus himself. "Okay...so, Cthulhu, right? You said you have four kids? I can see not mentioning a wife to your girlfriend, but why not mention the kids? You're proud of them, right?"

Cthulhu searched for the right word. "Define 'proud.'"

Idh-Yaa slapped her husband's shoulder, causing him to jump. "What do you want me to say?! Ythogtha, Zoth-Ommog, and Ghatanothoa are still out there trying to build up meaningless cults and followers! And how am I supposed to explain Cthylla, since she's supposed to give birth to me if I die?!"

"Wait, what?!" Satie asked. "Your daughter is supposed to be your mom?!"

"Man, this makes me homesick," Buddy said.

Idh-Yaa took a step forward to face her husband. "First of all, you don't have to bring that up! That was in one book! No one knows about that these days!"

Hailey raised her hand. "I played it in 'The Sinking City.'"

Lucy reached out and lowered her hand. "Time and a place, sweetheart."

"And most parents take an interest in their children's hobbies!" Idh-Yaa continued. "So, they collect a few civilizations! Would you rather they collect stamps like boring people?"

"People aren't collections!" Cthulhu shouted back. "You think maybe that's why I'm seeing someone else?! Someone who actually feels remorse for hurting other people?!"

There was a tense silence in the room. Kyle couldn't believe that he was standing in a room full of naked gods while he was trying to help solve their marital problems...also without any clothes. "Um...it's good you're talking this out. Just tell her what you feel."

Cthulhu pointed up at the starry sky through the hole Satie created. "I remember coming here before Satan's Eden had a sliver of soil. From day one, Yog-Sothoth and Shub-Niggurath hammered it into us that we were conquerors. I've fought more wars than I can name. My idiot cults keep sacrificing people for power. Shub kept telling me to meet as many women as I could and to spread my seed across the whole galaxy."

"Not an image I needed," Lucy groaned.

Cthulhu ignored her. "And then I met her. She felt sorrow and sympathy for the humans she hurt. I was so intrigued by her love for what were less than ants in the cosmos. It gave me a new appreciation for the universe and the things we did. She helped me understand what compassion was."

Idh-Yaa seemed close to tears. "Then what was I?! You married me and said you wanted to settle down! Didn't you have compassion for me?!"

"Of course I did!" Cthulhu said. "But we still waged war and conquered planets. That was our whole life! It was hard enough convincing the others to accept our marriage. How could I ask you to give up everything we knew? How could I **** you to understand."

Idh-Yaa closed the gap between them and wrapped her arms around her lover. "You didn't. I stayed with you when R'yleh sank. I stayed when the Mi-Go wanted to split the Mountains of Madness. I've been with you through everything. You could've trusted me with anything."

Cthulhu embraced his wife in a tight hug. "I should've known that. I'm sorry."

A loud honk broke the tender moment. Hailey was using her sleeve as a tissue. "This is so fucked up, but it's so happy!"

Grant peered down the row of cars by the gym. "First row clear."

"Second row clear," Roxie agreed. "Move up."

The two briefly sprinted across the empty row before ducking behind another car. Somehow, despite being naked, the two felt like they were in their element: hunting monsters made them feel more relaxed, even when stuck together.

"Think they'll have any friends here?" Grant asked.

"Like every high-profile target is in this city at the same time?" Roxie asked. "Please."

As she turned the corner, the car they parked behind opened its driver door, hitting Grant in the back of his head. The driver, a beautiful woman with an octopus hair pin, a slender body, and long, purple hair stepped out. She noticed the door hitting something and turned to see the nude hunters. "Oh, I'm so sorry! Are you two okay? Are you hurt?"

"My skull's nearly cracked, but I'm fine," Grant groaned.

Roxie let out a small laugh. "Okay, that made everything that happened today worth it!"

The woman reached into her purse. "My name's Cassie! Let me call you an ambulance! I think my cell is -!"

A blade pressed against her throat. Cassie stopped searching and slowly rose to her feet. Grant held the sword as he stood straight up. Roxie shot to her feet. "Are you nuts?! I thought we don't hurt people!"

"I never said I'd hurt her. I just need some time," Grant whispered. He turned back to the woman and spoke loud enough for her to hear. "Sorry, Miss, but we can't afford getting them involved. They may be in on it, and we need to catch the Devil soon."

The woman raised an eyebrow. "The Devil? You're chasing Lucy?"

"Oh, you know her?" Grant asked. "That's great! Just tell us where she is, and we'll be long gone."

The woman tilted her head. "I would, but right now my mind is preoccupied."

"With what?" Grant asked.

"Well, first I'm going to make you and your girlfriend see and smell hundreds of skunks blasting you with their spray. That will send you in a frenzy and send you running through the parking lot. Next, I think you two will lose complete control of your hormones and begin fucking in the arena where everyone can see the two of you in your most embarrassing moment."

Roxie and Grant shared a confused glance. "And how are you going to do that? This sword prevents any man from healing from it's cut," Roxie said.

"Well, for one, I'm not a man," the woman said. She reached out and gripped the sword blade as her eyes glowed a dark purple. "And for another, my name's not Cassie."

Cthulhu and Idh-Yaa remained in a romantic nude embrace in the middle of the locker room. Satie stood with her arms folded, annoyed at the overblown display of affection. Lucy leaned to Kyle and whispered, "Seriously, how did you do that?!"

"I didn't do anything!" Kyle said. "I just asked a basic question, and they did the rest!"

"Yeah, that's what psychiatrists do in your world for boring problems!" Lucy said. "You asked one and solved an affair between two Great Old Ones and Satan!"

"Oh, so you DO remember I was here?!" Satie asked. "Was that all I was? A sympathy pillow?"

Cthulhu broke away from Idh-Yaa and looked at Satie. "I'm sorry, Satie. I did fall for you; I truly did. I've only known love between three beings in my entire life. I never imagined anyone could make me feel the way you and Idh-Yaa do after so many conquests in bed."

Idh-Yaa wiped a tear from her eye. "It's been hard for me too, trying to stay faithful. I always did, but Grandma Shub had us going around for lovers too. I was just so lucky to find someone who didn't see me as a baby factory."

Satie threw up her hands. "So, that's it? I get dumped by Dad AND a freaking Great Old One?!"

Cthulhu looked at Satie and was about to speak, but Idh-Yaa held up a finger. "This sympathy for humans he spoke of...what does that translate to?"

Satie looked confused. "I...what? You don't know sympathy?"

"I know sympathy," Idh-Yaa said. "But for humans? I have never felt such a thing."

Satie grew a devilish smile and placed her hands on her hips, striking a sexy naked pose. "You know, Louie and I liked to link minds when we were together. I could do some very intriguing things."

Idh-Yaa grinned, showing off her teeth. "Is that so?"

Cthulhu looked between the girls before staring back up at the stars. "Thank you, Shub! Best night ever with two cosmic beings!"

"Hold up there!" Everyone turned toward Buddy. "Two? Now, ah can't count with mah shoes on, but didn't ya'll say there were three of 'em?"

At the moment, the door opened and a purple-haired woman walked inside. "Sorry I'm late, Louie! I got your text at work and..."

The woman stopped and stared at everyone, shocked at the amount of nudity in the room. Idh-Yaa, Cthulhu, and the woman spoke at the same time.

"Kassogtha?"

"Louie?"

"Sister?"

How does Kassogtha fit into this? How do Grant and Roxie cope with Kassogtha's spell?
