With a solemn bow the young man made his choice while the Goddess observed him with a calculating glint in her eye.
"You wish to start a new life in another world." she began, "However that is not your TRUE wish."
Darius nodded having accepted the great serpent deity had little to no care about the privacy of his thoughts. "Lady Veshra, I would like to be sent to another world with 2 of your gifts."
"You realize that this will be a one-way trip for you?" she questioned. "You will not encounter anyone in your current life again."
The 18 yr. old nodded again. He had no issue leaving it all behind him. With a bum knee his soccer career was dead. Without soccer his "friends" had no issue abandoning him. His father had left him and his mother for another woman and dumped his debt on them. Said mother being a drunken mess who kept insisting the deadbeat would come back if they just waited long enough. His other relatives weren't ideal caretakers either. Meanwhile the thugs who wanted their money back by whatever means necessary had long begun closing in.
"Leaving behind such a life couldn't be easier." he answered somewhat bitterly before looking into her eyes not bothering to hide his desperation. "If you grant me this I will worship and work in your name. Order it and I will do so."
A small hum left the goddess before she moved on, "Which abilities do you desire?"
"Vampirism and Shackle."
"Very well then. Consider our pact made. We shall see if you are able to keep your word soon enough."
With a snap of her fingers Darius felt his world go black.
