Levitation

"So, you think levitation is pointless?" Her mother asked.

"Yes!" Lauren snapped back. "What good would levitating a lap ever do in the real world?"

"I see." Victoria said. "In that case..."

She muttered an incantation. Then, to Lauren surprise, she found her feet lifting off the carpet! She squawked, kicking her legs as she hovered into the air.

"Mom!" She squealed. "Let me down!"

Victoria grinned. Lauren didn't look so stubborn and obstinate now! In fact, flailing in the air, she looked comically helpless. Adding to the silliness of the situation, Lauren kicked her heels off her feet, now barefoot as she floated.

"Not so useless now, is it?" Victoria smirked.
