Larissa is confused

“Why are you being bathed by your sister?” Larissa asked. “Aren’t you capable of doing it yourself?”

Claire’s eyes widened. She had been tricked. Kayla lied to her. Claire’s mouth dropped as she gazed at Kayla who gave her a now pleading look. Kayla wanted Claire to play along as if it was her idea to get bathed… but if she did that… she had no idea how her mom would react.
