Luffy Watches Rebecca Fight in Block D

After Rebecca left Luffy to fight in Block D, Luffy also left to find a place where he could watch the match so he could cheer her on. Eventually, he came across an area where it looked like prisoners were at, but Luffy then learned were actually convict gladiators. They explained that, along with Rebecca, were imprisoned in the colosseum and **** to be gladiators because they opposed the current king, Donquixote Doflamingo, and that Rebecca waas wanting the Mera Mera no Mi to try to kill Doflamingo.

Luffy anguished about what he heard Rebecca had gone through, but that was nothing until he heard the people in the stands boo at Rebecca and to then learn because their anger was actually at Rebecca's grandfather and previous king, King Riku, over something he did a decade prior.

"How dare they say such things at Rebecca for something she didn't do. What does her grandpa's deeds have to do with Rebecca?" asked Luffy as he also remember Don Chinjao angry at him earlier due to what his own grandpa had done long ago.

The convict gladiators were impressed with Luffy sticking by Rebecca's side.

"Who are you by the way, miss? How do you know Rebecca? I've never seen you before."

"My name is Lucy and Rebecca's my friend. She helped me with something that I thought couldn't be fixed," said Luffy as he alluded to his chest scar being removed. "I want to repay her kindness in anyway I can."

"Lucy, huh? That's a coincidence, the winner in Block B is also named Lucy, but you clearly are not him."

Luffy breathed a sigh of relief as he saw that Rebecca's disguise ideas worked perfectly andhe turned back as he and the convict gladiators cheered Rebecca on. Luffy was also impressed by Rebecca's defensive style with not really attacking directly, but still able to get her opponents to fall out of the ring.

Eventually, Block D ended in a confusing way, but Rebecca was the last person standing and the winner of Block D. Luffy and the convict gladiators cheered loudly while tears appeared in his eyes.

"Rebecca, you did it! You are that much closer to winning the Mera Mera no Mi," said Luffy with such joy in his voice.
