Before School

Dani woke up feeling refreshed for the first time in a long time. She hadn't gotten to bed until late last night, because of an art project that she was working on that was due today in her least favorite teacher's class, Mrs. Henshaw's. She hated Mrs. Henshaw, and the feeling was mutual. That teacher never missed a chance to insult her or bring attention to her mistakes, in fact Mrs. Henshaw seemed to enjoy making them worse. It was for that reason that Dani made sure her project was as perfect as it could be. The only downside to spending so long working on her trifold art project was that the glue still needed to dry. She worked on it so late, though, that she was sure she would be exhausted to, but, somehow, she felt rejuvenated. Today was going to be a good day, she could feel it.

Dani sat up and stretched her arms out above her head, casting a quick glance to see how much time she had to get ready. "Oh, it's only 7:15, I have plenty of time!" She thought with a happy smile, before her world came crashing down. "It's already 7:15!" She shouted, jumping out of her bed and turning on the light, quickly.

"How could I oversleep so much?!" Dani yelled at herself. School started in fifteen minutes, and it took ten minutes to get to her school from her house! "I can't be late again or my mom will kill me!"

Dani was frantically gathering her school supplies and flinging clothes around willy-nilly trying to find an outfit to wear. She wasn't paying attention to where they were landing anymore, because she needed to get ready. She would have considered going to school in what she wore to be, except all she wore to sleep was an large, black V-neck that covered everything above her mid-thigh and a really old, embarrassing pair of green, Tinker Bell panties that she wouldn't be caught dead in. She looked at the clock again, it was 7:18, now! Crap, crap, crap, I need to get ready!

She mentally cursed at herself for forgetting to set her alarm and hastily decided what to wear.
