The Regis Job

"I'll take the Regis job with Jillia. With the three of us helping out the military and Regis Hunters, it shouldn't be too dangerous right?"

Tychus nodded and called to the team leader in question. She jumped over a table and did a series of back flips until she ended her short journey with a great spinning leap to land on the table that they were seated at. Rondo whistled in awe.

"And I thought you knew how to move lass. This one is certainly agile."

"Fluid is water, water is life. If body can mimic water, it can sustain life," was the answer of the small woman on the table. She was dressed in a black and white harlequin outfit, and her white hair was braided down her back. She tilted her head a little to the side as she looked at Rondo and her dreamy eyes seemed almost asleep as she took in his features.

"Wolf, wolf. What do you hunt? Life, love, or succulent; meat if I may be blunt?"

"I think ya lost me with that one girl," responded the werewolf as he scratched his head. Venus was happy to see his eyes had gone back to their dark brown hue. He was completely calm now, although she was a little jealous that he was watching Jillia so much.

"She's asking your intentions here wolf," answered Tychus with huff as he glared at Jillia.

"Jillia here is one of our best in a stand up fight. She's fast, and pretty damn deadly with her daggers. Never can tell where she keeps all of the blasted things. Her way of talking is... unique, to say the least."

"I'm here to help my mate... Wife. She is a Hunter so I joined her to keep her safe. So I guess love is the answer."

A slight smile played at Jillia's fully lips as she nodded slowly. She held out a small hand, that Rondo sheepishly took and shook. Then Jillia turned her attention to Venus.

"Two weeks travel, we must make. Then a siege to surely break. Gather weapons, gear, and food. Tomorrow have a traveling mood."

With that she slipped from the table and disappeared into the crowded Lounge to make her own preparations. Ace barely gave Venus another glance before he too left the table. Rondo shook his head, suddenly looking very tired.

"Venus, my girl, what have you gotten me into? A right bunch of nuts here lass."

"Maybe, but Namina houses some of the best Hunters there is."

"Aye, between Ace, Jillia, and Venus, we didn't have much to worry about until recently. Plus there is that magic slinger Moseph, and Vazard. Five of the best I've ever seen."

"I'm not that good Elder," Venus laughed as she enjoyed the indirect compliment on her skill. The Elder looked at her mate for a moment then back at her.

"Ace, our Magic blade. Jillia the Dancing Dagger, Moseph the All Spells, Vazard the weapons master, and Venus the Beast Tracker. Those are the names I hear at every Elder meeting. Even Yorin knows your name child. Between you five, Namina's area is safest of all the Cities. Now you've got a Were following you. Not since that vampire Helsing have we had a monster in our ranks. Jillia seems to accept you, so use this as an opportunity to show what you can do and how you can help us."

"I'll be doing my best anyway, just to keep Venus safe."

Tychus nodded and leaned back in his chair.

"Show him the armory and get your gear together. Knowing Jillia she will want an early start in the morning."

With a happy smile, Venus took Rondo's hand to lead him off. She knew he might need some weapons, and she had enough money that some shopping would probably be wise too for the long trip and dangerous hunt.
