Power Girl/Rogue: A psychic solution

"So, how'd things go with Charles?" Jean asked as Rogue walked into the Xavier Mansion common room late Saturday night. It wasn't incredibly common these days for Jean to stay at her room in the X-Mansion; she'd been spending more time at her Manhattan apartment with her girlfriend, Shayera, and oftentimes, with their mutual lovers as well. But when Rogue requested her help, along with the help of Professor X and Emma Frost, to help her once again attempt to fully control her powers, Jean was more than willing to return to her home in Westchester. She also realized she could use that time to focus on her duties as an X-Woman, and she was glad to spend more time with the other X-Men. They were family, after all.

Anna Marie hung her head, looking defeated. "Pretty badly. Charlie spent hours rootin' around in my head, and I still don't feel like I have any kinda control over my powers," she said in frustration. "I'm beginnin' to think there ain't no way we're gonna fix me... I feel like I'm gonna be stuck like this forever."

"OK, Rogue, first of all, you're not broken," Jean told the Southern girl firmly. "You've saved me more times than I care to count, and I know for a fact that every single other X-Man would say the same. Secondly, don't give up on trying to control your powers, because nobody else here has given up on you, either. You don't have to solve this puzzle alone."

Rogue shook her head. "'Preciate it, Jeannie, but I don't want the rest of the team frettin' over me. You, Emma, Charlie, Hank... y'all have been pushin' yourselves so hard for me this past week or so... maybe ya would just be better off cuttin' your losses."

"Come on... we both know that's not happening," Jean countered with a slight smile. "But Emma & I have been talking, and we think maybe you could use some help from someone *outside* the X-Men."

Rogue raised an eyebrow in confusion. "Someone outside the X-Men, huh? Who'd y'all have in mind?"

"Dr. Paige Stetler and Dr. Lilith Clay. You probably know them better as Power Girl and Omen," Jean responded. "They've started a psychotherapy practice for metas, and they both have telepathic abilities."

"Huh. Obviously, I know who Power Girl is. I had no idea she'd gotten into the therapy business, though" Rogue said "And Omen... she's a Titan, ain't she? Or at least a reserve member?"

"Yeah. She's not active right now, but she's a Titan. Anyway, Emma & I think that maybe since they aren't mutants, they might be able to pick up on something we missed," Jean suggested.

Rogue considered her friend's offer and nodded. "All right, I'm in. Better than just slammin' our heads against the same wall over n' over again," she said with a shrug.
