13. Another afternoon with Meli

As you turn back to your work, you hear another knock at your door. You wonder where Nikki is that she’s not ringing for you to let you know who it would be.

“Come in.”

The door opens to reveal Meli Victor slipping in. “Hi Mr. Spear.”

“Meli, good to see you without an officer in tow.”

“Well, that’s the thing.” She pulls something out of her purse and places it on the table before you. It’s an eyeshadow palette.

“Ah.” You stare at the object, “I take it Kira wasn’t on watch today.”

“No.” Meli blushed. “But… well I do feel bad. So I thought…”
