A Little Catch Up

Nicole gave her head a minor shake, Kenny could see the lingering irritation in her eyes, "Nothing, nothing, you know I just continue to learn new shit about that fuckwit every day is all," Nicole sarcastically retorted,

Kenny slowly moved his hand away and let out a concerned look, “You alright?” He asked while scooting himself up in the bed,

"Why wouldn't I be, I'm fucking peachy Ken!" Nicole snarkily retorted, "Am I supposed to break the fuck down because of that piece of shit? Why would I care what he thinks? He can kiss my ass! I could give a fuck!" Nicole said growing louder with each word until she was turned back at the closed door, screaming once again,

"Nicole..." Kenny gently called out to the girl who was huffing heavily and nearly trembling with rage, "It's alright...just tell me what happened. Let me try to help,"

Nicole took in a slow deliberate breath before turning to Kenny, "You wanna know what happened?" Her tone was sharp and damn near vicious, something quite unbecoming for Nicole as far as Kenny knew, "Apparently this whole thing is my fucking fault,"

Kenny's head slightly recoiled and he frowned, "What? How the hell does that work?"

"No, no, really this is my fault that we're broken up. You see Kenny, I have issues with commitment so that means I didn't take our relationship seriously. So by that logic, I basically made him fucking that bitch, and I am just being a massive cunt for not forgiving him. Because any normal girl would be fine with this whole thing it's just me that's the problem," Nicole explained each word dripping with equal parts sarcasm and anger, "I practically threw him at Claire Thomas!"

"That's complete horseshit," Kenny sternly replied, "Devin needs to take some responsibility here, you hold no blame for what he was doing. It isn't hard to not cheat on someone. What the fuck? I mean, take some accountability."

“Oh, why would Devin have to do that? He's never been at fault once in his life, it's always other people keeping him down,” Nicole grumbled, “God it felt fucking good to slap that prick across the face,” She said while she walked over to the bed and got into it, sitting next to Kenny.

Kenny's eyes widened, "Wait, you slapped him? I mean you actually hit him?"

"What? Am I supposed to really feel bad over that? After what he said to me?"

"No, not that, but I mean, you hit him. I didn't think you even had a mean bone in your body. He really jabbed you deep," He let out a disappointed sigh, "I'm sorry, Nikki."

Nicole paused and kept her eyes on her coffee, once again tossing the idea of telling Kenny what was said and if it was something he should hear. Nicole finally let out an annoyed exhale, she figured he deserved to know, “No, see, he spewed all that shit out and I shook that off no problem, as if I was gonna get guilted by him,” She said cocking her head a bit, “But then he started talking more, basically trying to get me to forgive him without even saying sorry. When I told him off he got pissed off then he --” She said peering over to Kenny, and suddenly Nicole felt her cheeks suddenly going flush. For the first time in literal years she struggled to look a guy in the eyes because she felt so embarrassed, “He, uh, he just said that you and I -- or that I was --” The redhead stumbled back,

“Nikki, just get it out. It’s okay.” Kenny said putting his hand on her back, expecting that she was getting upset rather than embarrassed,

She took a sharp breath, tried to hide her pink cheeks, and continued, “Then I told him we were over and he started talking about us. He thinks we're going somewhere, that I'm planning on using you as a rebound, you know, fuck away my anger or whatever?”

Kenny moved his hand away from her and widened his eyes, “You and m-me?” He stammered out,

“He was just trying to get at me, said it'd be proof that I never cared about our relationship and just wanted an out.” Nicole explained as her eyes flicked away and to Kenny's rapidly, “And that just rubbed me the wrong way. I just -- I just snapped and I slapped him.” Then to Kenny’s surprise, she smiled, barely holding in a laugh, "I mean I fucking hauled off on that piece of shit as hard as I could,"

“Sounds like you were on a roll,” Kenny said letting out a weak breathy laugh,

“Oh yeah,” Nicole said, sipping her coffee, “Nothing could stop me.” The two shared another short laugh and sat quietly in the bed for a moment, “I did try with us, you know? Devin was my first real boyfriend, I never wanted one before because I'd seen how shitty they can go. Still, Devin and me...it felt like a connection, he got me and I thought -- it's fucking stupid, but I thought maybe I even loved him and he loved me. Then this morning, when I talked to Devin everything about him felt so fake, his words were like a script to get out of trouble and I realized what an ass I'd been. I know for a fact that if I didn’t catch him he never would have told me. He would have just pretended that it never happened. I may be a lot of things Kenny, but I'd never do that to someone I loved...”

Kenny was taken aback, he understood what she meant but it was nearly surreal to hear the words leave Nicole's mouth. He felt a bit guilty but in his mind, he never pictured Nicole caring all that deeply when it came to relationships. Anger he expected but this...it was something else entirely and he hated that it caught him off guard, "Nikki...I don't know what else to say but, I'm so sorry that this happened to you. No one should be hurt this way, and I hate to see it happening to one of my friends,"

“Thank you, Kenny. I know I've been...weird since we got here but I don't think I'd be handling this like I am without you. I love Anna, I do, but I know for all she cares for me, a part of her was waiting for this day. You...you just listen and make me feel a little better each time without making me feel like a dumbass,” Nicole replied with a warm smile, “And I'm sure once you go after whoever you are planning on going for, you’ll never make that mistake again.”

Kenny smirked and chuckled softly, “I don’t know, I’m not even sure if I really am after anyone.” Kenny admitted, since Brian had so easily won Anna’s eye it wasn't like he had any other girls on his mind, as brief as the thought of Anna was.

“Really?” Nicole said visibly surprised, "Oh come, Clark, you have to want somebody," Kenny let out a silent chuckle and shrugged, "Noooo," Nicole whined while playfully slapping his shoulder, "You're a fucking stud, any girl would be fucking lucky to have you. You're fun to be around, nice as all hell, you have this really chill vibe that anyone can appreciate," Nicole began to list until she unconsciously brought her hand up and once again brushed some hair out of his face, "And your eyes are...your eyes..."

The pair fell silent, merely staring back at each other intently. Kenny let out a soft breathy exhale and Nicole slightly tilted her head letting out a very low and warm hum. Then in an instant the both of them push forward, pressing their lips against one another. Kenny's mind was blank, first kiss or not, he registered nothing but the soft lips of Nicole's pressed against his. He pushed back in a tentative but eager way but Nicole abruptly pulled back letting out a whine.

Kenny's brow raised in surprise as Nicole merely pulled back and brought two fingers to her lower lip, tracing along the edge, "Did I do something wrong?" Kenny asked in concern,

"No, you didn't," Nicole blankly replied,

"Fuck, that was too much, right? I shouldn't have done that, I'm sorry, Nicole," Kenny swiftly apologized, internally kicking himself,

"No, please," Nicole sighed, "Please don't apologize. Nothing you did was wrong here, Ken. It's me...I...god, fuck...I feel guilty," Nicole hardly admitted, "I wanted to do that, and not in a rebound, let's fuck way, I mean...I wanted to kiss you and I don't think I should feel that way. I just got broke up with my boyfriend yesterday,"

Kenny felt an instant rush of relief, "Right, of course, that makes total sense. We can just pretend that didn't happen if that's easier for you,"

Nicole let out a soft giggle, "Well I didn't exactly say that, I just need a little time to get my head straight first. Is that cool?" Nicole asked back,

"Totally, take whatever time you need, I'm in no hurry," Nicole raised her brow and stared back at him, "I mean it, I'm cool,"

Nicole let out a small breathy laugh, "Okay, if you say so, just try not to stare at my ass or tits and more than usual,"

Kenny playfully rolled his eyes, "Yeah, I'll try to control myself,"

Nicole laughed and pulled herself back out of bed, “We should probably start getting dressed, the others will be getting up any minute now if I didn't wake them already,"

Kenny nodded and followed suit, “Yeah, you're right, I'm gonna go take a shower.” He stammered out before quickly walking into their bathroom.

"Oooh the kiss had that much of an effect on you? Ken, if you're going to jerk off you can just say it," Nicole teased,

"Oh ha ha," Kenny rebuffed, keeping his head turned to hide his blushing as he moved to the bathroom. Nicole let out a half snort and shook her head, leaving Kenny be and heading back out of the bedroom.
