Pretend to be asleep

You lie still, giving out an occasional snore as Madam Pomfrey walks around the Hospital Wing. She stops beside your bed for a few minutes and you think that she's caught you out, but she continues her rounds without disturbing you.

You open your eyes a crack to spy on Madam Pomfrey. Currently, she’s walking around the other beds in the infirmary. You’re currently the only patient in the Hospital Wing, so you wonder what her interest is. Beside each bed, Madam Pomfrey stops in front of the small bedside table and bends down. You can’t see what she’s doing, but you suspect she’s either casting healing spells on the beds or placing some healing materials nearby.

Once Madam Pomfrey’s passed all the beds, she walks over to the row of large cupboards in front of her office. She opens one and you glimpse rows and rows of jars. These are probably the healing potions, tonics and salves that Madam Pomfrey uses in her trade. Finally, Madam Pomfrey walks back into her office.

This night time exercise has given you a lot to think about. Your visit to the Hospital Wing may not be a waste of time. Instead, you may use this opportunity to look for your potion ingredients. You’ve forgotten that Madam Pomfrey stores potions and their ingredients in the Hospital Wing so that she doesn’t have to rely on going to the Potion store room on short notice.
